We stayed in the suite which has superb views ofthe sea and a lovely balcony great bath and shower and you can sit in your bed with lovely sea views highly The room has a full size fridge which was handy for picnicking I really recommend this room. I liked the old style of the hotel and although we had a buffet breakfast of cereal toast tea and coffee plus peaches in juice and yogurt was available as part of the room rate it was plenty .A cooked breakfast is optional at extra cost £12.50

It would have been nice to have had water in the room or glasses to drink water from and proper tea spoons and a better selection on the teatray and a biscuit offering

"The hotel may once have been grand, but it is definitely now down at heels."

6.0

The view, the staff

The hotel is closing and maintenance was lacking. We had no heat in our room on a very cold night.

"Lovely views from room which was huge, but was tire and dated. Not enough lighting for such a big room and single glazed"

5.0

The views from our room was one of the best - no. 3 Location, was a 8 minute walk to Charlestown Harbour (however beware a steep climb uphill if taking the sea path)

Missing bedroom lamps on other side of bed, mattress on the twin beds sank in after first night and after we extended our stay for a third night, sheets were not change even after asking for room to be cleaned None of the central heating worked in rooms and neither did towel rail. We went at Easter but looking at previous reviews in February, guests experienced same issues, so obviously not being fixed, as under impression hotel being knocked down or taken over, so current management not doing any expensive maintenance like repairing heating

"Overpriced. Cheap quality breakfast. Dated"

3.0

Needs updating but in a great location. No attention to detail in rooms or breakfast room. Very limited menu and overpriced. Cheap ingredients extremely poor breakfast

Dated damaged bathroom, awful decoration. No water glasses. Ill-fitting old curtains. Badly layout of rooms.Dreadful low Formica tables in the dining room that seemed to double as the bar. Shabby dressed barman

"An ok overnight stay"

6.0

The location was good if you like to be remote from the thick of things, a shortish walk to Charlestown which is a lovely gentrified harbour.

Personally I felt a bit of booking.com customer prejudice, this may be unfair, but I felt as though I had been downgraded. The room was ok, but furniture everywhere, an untuned TV, it felt like I had been shoehorned in.

Location

Tardy. Small TV. Remote not working. No bedside lamp. Room too small for 2 single beds.

Superb sea view . Hotel was between chefs but the owner/manager made a big effort and we left happy.

L'emplacement et la vue incroyable sur la baie de St Austell. Très calme.

L'hotel a mal vieilli et les équipements sont vieillots. Le petit-déjeuner est frugal et de mauvaise qualité.
