Hotel Bologna

We had the absolute best time away in Hotel Bologna. The terrace suite 624 is worth the extra money if you want - taste of luxury. The hot tub on a cold winters day was just lush, the views amazing. Rooms very clean and daily turnovers excellent. Staff on reception, in particular Allesandro and Rosa were super helpful and friendly. The breakfast team know how to put on a wonderful spread and know how to make a decent cappuccino! The location is so central and convenient. We parked at Cittadella car park and it’s a 5 min walk to the hotel (as no parking at the hotel) it cost €20 per day which for city centre is standard. Verona is beautiful and when your base camp is Hotel Bologna it take the whole experience to another level.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was immediately granted an extra hour for check out upon request, courtesy of the staff member who checked me in. The waiter at breakfast was super friendly and efficient. He also made a good cappuccino! The breakfast was a little basic but ok tasting. The room itself was nicely laid out and dressed with the four poster bed. But it was small and felt tight to move around. The bathroom too was small and the shower was unusual in its tight layout. The sink was blocked and the shower enclosure didn’t operate properly. The extractor fan was rather noisey too. However, I made do for a one night stay. I wonder whether the room allocation was due to my having booked through hotels.com? I’ve noticed that booking through this portal usually results in a lower order room that doesn’t always live up to expectation. I guess there’s gotta be some trade off for being awarded a free night after buying 10! The hotel itself is in a great location close to shopping and site seeing attractions. Particularly great that when you turn the corner you are greeted by the magnificent colosseum.

Amazing hotel, buffet breakfast was to die for. Staff were incredible, and nothing was too much trouble. Room was brilliant, clean and tidy. Location was perfect, with loads of places to eat and drink right on the doorstep. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here. Highly recommended.

Quaint historic property walking distance to nearly everything from epic dining, Juliet’s House, Colosseum and more. Several bicycles are available for guest use, so we toured more than expected, including crossing the river on historic bridges! The hotel hosts wonderful breakfast options, and coffee service to your table—no waiting in long coffee lines😄 We heard one guest note the rooms as “claustrophobic “, and yes, some are small. (Historic!) so pay attention to your reservation info. But you probably won’t spend much time in the room. Wonderful cafes everywhere, make sure to use the bikes for at least a couple hours if weather permits. If arrive by train there is bus option, but we hired a taxi at the tratn station. 15 Euros very well spent. Dropped us right at the hotel door, on the edge of Piazza Bra—the coliseum is right there!!!

Our room was size of a large closet. Much too small. Opening our suitcases was very difficult because of the size of the room. We asked for an upgrade and they could not accommodate us. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very difficult to bring a car to deposit luggage and even more difficult to find parking. The Expedia website was misleading.

Great location and the rooms are cozy and comfortable. It’s walking distance to everything and although it might be noisy outside, the rooms are very quiet. Some Italian beds are too firm for me (and blah linens) but this bed was nice (comfy) with great linens. Would absolutely stay here again.
