Stiegl Scala Hotel

The hotel was clean and comfortable beds. We checked in on a Saturday afternoon. We tried to find any place we could nearby open to eat. There was nothing except a Japanese ramen place nearby. The entire area around the hotel seemed to close down and appeared empty after 5 pm. We ate at the hotel but would have preferred to get out and try some of the local eateries. The neighborhood is covered with graffiti and I felt on heightened alertness when we were out. Overall a little disappointed with the overall experience. I would try to find some place better situated next time.

The location of Scala Hotel Stiegl was fantastic if you want to be away from the train station atmosphere but still close to the old town. The hotel is grand and has a pool and lovely patio under the trees for outdoor breakfast, dining and drinks. The buffet breakfast is wonderful especially the selection of pastries. The room was very clean, great wifi, dog-friendly, and the only place we stayed where there is air conditioning and it works! My room had a beautiful view over the rooftops to the mountains.

The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Suggested us to park in the outside car park to save EUR 11 instead of the underground car park.

Nice little hotel, very helpful staff. Only a short walk from the station and town centre.

Short walk to central area. Couldn't research because WiFi always weak when on, disconnects every 5 or 20 minutes, takes 10 minutes to reconnect. 4 star prices. 2 star conveniences. I asked for another cup of morning coffe, gave up. I guess i cup limit. No water at breakfast either. Staff nice. Rooms clean. Bolzano very nice

Great but room was too hot and ac would not cool it

My first time in Bolzano and I just picked by price on Expedia. The outside of the building reminds one of The Grand Budapest Hotel and I was a little worried...the lobby and lounge are mid-century but thankfully the rooms are modern, clean, and convenient. Kind of a mixed aesthetic. Decent European breakfast in a room that maintains the old Tyrolean traditions. What I found odd was the incredible tension among the staff. The man who appears to live at the front desk needs to find a job that suits his poetic nature better...he seemed very tense and unhappy. The breakfast room staff snapped at each other about how the tablecloths were folded. I think this is an example where the Austrian/Italian marriage of the city seems to need a little counseling. If you're only going to be using the rooms to sleep and change, this is a good place, quiet and clean and cozy. Just don't plan to hang around much.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Our room had a beautiful view of the mountains. It was about a fifteen minute walk to the main shopping area and Christmas market. Lots of shopping and very festive market that I would highly recommend. We were able to park for free by parking on the road out front. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the train station. We were fine to have one rolling luggage each, walking the street. If you have more, you may want a taxi. It is also relatively close to the main tourist area (another 10 minute walk). This meant the hotel location is quiet and peaceful. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was also great. There was a really good selection for breakfast, and the staff were friendly.

Hotel was clean, service was friendly and the bed was a real kind size and comfortable. The location is VERY close to the gondola that takes you to Soprabolzano which is a must to see when you're there!
