Very big room and bathroom. Nice and clean.The breakfast was good with various options.
We were on vacation from Canada, and fell in love with the area.. When we return sometime in the future we will most certainly stay here.
We have stayed at this hotel twice. Both times we found it excellent: clean, lovely rooms, helpful staff, wonderful breakfast (included), beautiful swimming pool, and great restaurant. It is not far from the train station, and an easy walk to the main part of town, but it is on a quiet street.
I had an extremely frustrating experience finding the parking lot -- ended up taking a 30 minute drive on very narrow winding streets because the directions I received at the front desk were confusing. Luckily, I had GPS or I don't know how long it would have taken me to find the hotel again. I wanted to speak to the manager and was first told his schedule was erratic and then that he wasn't in when he actually was at the hotel. When I did get to speak to him, he blamed me for stupid reasons -- like, if I understood Italian culture or how to drive in Italy, I would have backed up on the narrow crowded street rather than trying to go around the block to try again to find the parking lot entrance. When I suggested they prepare a small paper map to show clients exactly how to find the parking lot, he told me that was something Americans would do and Italians would not. None of this was in a friendly or accommodating tone. The experience at Stiegl Scala was the only real unpleasantness I had in a blissful 2 week Italian road trip.
It was a spacious room for the triple we ordered, which was very welcome. The bathroom was well-sized as well, and has clear glass doors (which can cause some issues in sharing). The free breakfast buffet was about the same everyday and had a good variety to offer. About a 10 minute walk to the train station which was perfect for traveling to and from
We stayed one night in this hotel.It is a good choice for Bolzano if you want to stay in a central location and have a car,since parking in Bolzano can be a problem.This hotel provided free private parking outdoors or in garage for a fee.The rooms are basic but comfortable,spacious and clean.The staff is professional and the breakfast is excellent.I would recommend this hotel
Quite great location. It was near to the city with a quite places to relax and retreat.
Spent 4 nights at this hotel. I think I got one of the recently rooms; it was super modern and new looking. A friend was in a less renovated room; apparently the air conditioning did not work well in his room. The room was perfect; the only thing that would have made it nicer was an in room coffee maker. Breakfast was decent but I've had better in italy. I learned only the last day that you can order eggs. I wish I had known that sooner because I don't eat meat or dairy and since I was hiking every day I needed some protein. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. It was in a very convenient location, just around the corner from one of the funiculars.
