The swimming pool area lacks atmosphere

Hotel Capri offers 5 Star Luxury hotel style while maintaining its unique, boutique charm. The staff were tremendous in handling all of our specific needs. They provided personal service as if we were the only guest on property. Terese (Manager) and her staff were extremely attentive. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Would rather the pool stay opened later than 6pm. The location, the staff, the amenities made this one of our best hotel experiences while in Italy.

great location, clean room, excellent breakfast, great staff

Brilliant stay. Check in was quick and easy. We had a 1st floor room with a small balcony (large enough for the 2 of us) which overlooked the pool area. A busy road is on other side of hotel. We would recommend you ask for a pool view. Room was lovely with a large ensuite bathroom. Buffet breakfast was excellent, we had something different each day and there was still. Lots of sun beds and chairs around the pool area and there was always availability. The garden area was beautiful but with the trees was a more in the shade. Hotel was about 1km to the main square and an easy flat walk. All staff were friendly and helpful. When we return to Sorrento, we will definitely stay at the Hotel Capri.

Not top area by sea and high cost

Hotel lobby is nicely decorated inside but rooms are very small. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast has a lot to offer. The beans and scrambled egg could do with being hot as they were sometimes just luke warm. Our room was on a noisy side street with only a small window so always dark. We had nowhere to dry our wet swimming costumes or towels. There is a dressing table in the room but no mirror above it. 1 plug socket and 1 in the bathroom which we were too scared to use next to the sink! We did address this as it had sockets by the bed but they didn't work. I was told by the manager she would look at it but then never got back to me? It could do with some draws maybe by the sides of the beds as there was space but just a shelf. Only 2 draws in the wardrobe so we had to keep a lot of things in our suitcase. Lovely staff in the restaurant especially Nissal who was always smiling and helpful, some of the reception staff could do with being a little more friendly as sometimes they didn't even speak and would look straight through you. I did ask if it was adult only as that is the exact reason we always book hotels that offer this and was told it was just there was a child there who looked 12 , we were told by reception he was 16, there was no way he was and then she pulled a face at us and shrugged her shoulders. The hotel is in a good position for the railway station and bars and shops. We made the most of our stay by exploring many different places using the trains, ferries and busses. This hotel is a nice hotel but with a few little changes could be a good hotel.
