Unfortunately, neither the room (hotel) nor the standard of the breakfast or dinner reached the standard of the 4* hotels we know. Only one receptionist spoke English.

If you are looking for an affordable hotel in Ischia - La Scogliera is the right fit. Good location. Clean. However, the furniture in the room is from the 1970’s - pretty much beat up. Extremely small shower. I had a side view room with a balcony and not sure if it’s worth spending the extra money. We ate dinner the first night as we got to Ischia late and didn’t feel like going out to a restaurant. It’s basically hospital type of food no taste whatsoever with an institutional setting. I couldn’t wrap my head around why they would serve breakfast and dinner in this depressing setting when the hotel has a beautiful large open entrance surrounded by olive trees and hibiscus plants overlooking the sea! Anyway, we managed to have a good time despite hotel flaws as Ischia is a gorgeous island with amazing restaurants, beaches, spas and classical concerts.

I liked the atmosphere of the hotel and the hospitality , all the stuff was really extremly gentle and helpful, the room was very clean, nice view., the food was good. Excellent location. We were so friendly welcomed when we hqve arrived very late in the night they offered us a ,refreshing dinner. All in was the pleasant stay.

There was not anything that I did not like or enjoy.

The hotel concierge was AMAZING. Being American, and our first time on the island, we needed some help and direction. Gaetano in particular was a huge help. Especially when it came down to helping us track down our luggage that was delivered (it was did not make our connecting flight in Rome). Thank you so much!!!

The hotel lobby was clean and had great staff and amenities. The refrigerator in our room did not work very well as our waters/sodas were always room temperature. Also, the cleanliness of our room, under the bed, in particular could be improved. Overall, very happy with our stay.

Beautiful place and good location. Charming, friendly, and welcoming staff. Great value for money, but this is not high end facilities and not a gourmet restaurant. But the location and atmosphere outweigh any lack of other requirements in our opinion. We will come back 😁

Great place to stay in Forio! La Scogliera hotel is located at the waterfront with it's own sun deck at the sea with possibility to go swimming there straight from it. Our room was clean and spacious with beautiful sea view. There is a lot of sunbeds at the pool and sundeck so there was no problem with finding unoccupied ones. Last but not least the staff is amazing! They are very helpful, eager to provide tips on exploring the island and solving any problems you may encounter during your stay. Great thanks to the manager, you helped us having a wonderful week in Forio!

Not much to complain about. Only thing I think might be a problem for somebody willing to sunbath a lot is that sundeck located on the shore is seasonal. It is rebuilt every year to be ready on the beggining of the season. If this bothers you, make sure it is opened. If willing to go swimming in the sea beware of the sea urchins and bring swimming shoes!
