Hotel La Scogliera

It was our second time we've stayed here, once in May 2023 as a couple trip and again May 2024 a big friend group trip. We went this year to with a bunch of friends to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday because we really loved Ischia and this hotel treated us so well in 2023. The breakfast and dinners were amazing and there's a lot to choose from. The hotel is beautifully decorated, very clean pools with a view of the forest/hill and the fact there's a view of the sea from the front of the hotel, courtyard, pool balcony and room balconies makes this place all the more special! The hotel staff are so incredibly helpful and accommodating, they really went above and beyond to make sure we had an exceptional stay, they even gave us suggestions of places to visits and sometimes the hotel has discounts/coupons for things like Negombo and Poseidon. Shout out to Gaetano, you made our stay in 2023 and 2024 amazing, as well as the surprise birthday cake for my husband's 30th made this trip all the more memorable. We will forever suggest this hotel to all our friends and family.

It would be lovely to see more non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails options as well as at least one more dish that is vegetarian on the menu for the guests who are strictly vegetarian. Also, I understand the weather was still very cold during the time we went but it would be nice to see the pier open again like how it's shown on the website, I know guests would have love to take a dip in the sea directly from the hotel's pier.

The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful. We were half board and we had great food in the evening with the waiters really working to make the experience memorable. The guy on the front desk was amazing, he gave us discount tickets for local days out and always there to help, can't thank him enough! We had our room upgraded for free and had a beautiful view of the sea which was really worth it, I would book a sea room if I was booking a second time, they come with a great balcony.

The bed could have been a bit softer and the air conditioning was on hot when we got there so was a bit too hot at night but was good when it was switched to cold setting.

Gaetano and the rest of the team were amazingly helpful and went above and beyond several times during our stay, organising discounts for our group excursions and generally sorting us out with anything we wanted. The food provided was awesome. Can't recommend highly enough!

Shower was very small, outdated but clean and well cared for. Could serve fresh coffee vs machine coffee.

Awesome personnel, especially the reception and waiters. Very communicative and helpful. The sea view from the room was great, very big balcony and two very nice beaches nearby.

Hotel food was below average. Both breakfast and dinner.

I liked everything! Rooms are lovely, with big terraces overlooking the sea. It is literally on the seaside - a beautiful long stretch of sandy clean beach, perfect for swimming. All the hotel staff are amazingly friendly, warm and helpful, more than the standard! Loved the food at the dinner too, loads of vegetables and aubergines were in particular my favorite. Loved the hotel garden, we spent a lot of time there playing cards. And the swimming pool is lovely, as well as the thermal water hot pool. A 10-minutes stroll to the wonderful little city of Forio. And bus and boat stops just a few minutes walk from the hotel to take you anywhere around the island for a trip all day round. Also very many nice bars and restaurants just around the hotel, and shops in Forio. We will definitely come back next year!

Nothing not to like!

The hotel room was clean and spacious; we had a balcony with a sea view. The breakfast facilities were varied and filling, gluten-free cakes were provided. There was an abundance of cakes, fruit, pastries, cereals and savoury options such as hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes and cheese or cold ham, of which you could have as much as you like. In addition, hot drinks and fresh juices. The staff were interactive and accommodating. We opted to spend our days by the sea, where we hired two sun loungers and an umbrella; the price was reasonable at 20 euros for the day, the loungers were positioned by a jetty and there was a ladder to gain access to the sea for swimming. The area was watched by a lifeguard and you could purchase drinks and snacks throughout the morning and into the afternoon. There were also two pools if you wished to bathe by the pool. The hotel is situated at the end of a beachfront and access to the main town of Forio took us about 15 minutes. Forio is a vibrant and picturesque town and there are plenty of restaurants and bars with a variety of food options, the sunsets are lovely. There are thermal spas all over the island, we also visited Castello Aragnose d'Ischia, which is stunning there is a lovely bar towards the top of the castle where you have terrific views of Capri. The island of Procida is worth a visit, it's beautiful and very tranquil and relaxing. We had a lovely time.

The overall atmosphere is perhaps more fitting for a slightly more senior clientele, although that didn't stop us from having a lovely holiday.
