It’s a beautiful chateau in a quiet location. The breakfast was very good.

Upon arrival we were told that the restaurant was shut and had been for the past 2 weeks. This meant we had to drive to another place for dinner. Had we known we would have cancelled the booking - we’ve stayed here before and like it very much but this was extremely disappointing.

Kamer was klein,haren in badkamer en bed.Insekten in de kamer.Waterkoker maar die moest je al vasthoudend in de badkamer insteken want de stekker was te kort en er waren geen stopcontacten.Hond mocht niet mee aan ontbijt ,terwijl honden wel toegestaan zijn op de kamer.

On the night we stayed there was no restaurant so nowhere to eat. Room was ok but not the same as pictured on booking.com

We stayed here twice in September - once on the way down to the Dordogne, once on the way back. I'd like to start by saying I had a massage and it was the best one I've ever had. Also, it is a beautiful main building and the grounds are lovely and well kept. It's in a nice area and extremely well placed if you're travelling through France. The reception staff are helpful. Breakfasts are varied (if expensive) and there are a large number of choices. The first room we stayed in was comfortable and well decorated. Here comes the BUT, and I'm afraid there are a few of them. On our return journey, we stayed in a suite. The bathroom was excellent and the suite was a very good size, but it was very impersonal (all painted light colours, no pictures etc) and the paintwork definitely needed redoing, as did the carpet. Our main disappointment though was with the restaurant. The staff on our first visit were brilliant, but on our second their attention was with two very large groups and there were obviously not enough waiters to deal with the number of guests. I ordered steak - I like it medium but on our first visit I'd ordered it it came blue, so the second time I ordered it I asked for it to be well done, and again it came back blue. When I brought this to the waiter's attention there was no real apology - just "I'll let the chef know" - as he rushed off no doubt to deal with one of the groups. A real shame but we won't be staying again. I can completely understand a previous reviewer who said that when it was family owned it was a superb hotel, as it certainly has the 'bones' to be one, but unfortunately I think it's suffering under corporate management and a concentration on group bookings.
