Great hotel and wonderful staff!

We only had one whole day in Switzerland during our Central European vacation. We decide to spend it exploring Mt Pilatus. This lovely and meticulously clean hotel was only 10 km from the gondola and only a few blocks from the lake. The next morning we flew out of Zurich which was also close by. Every staff we passed, greeted us professionally and pleasantly, asking if they could help with anything. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We arrived late so were unable to have dinner but the Bistro menu looked delicious. The person at the front desk recommended an Italian restaurant only a few minutes away who remained open late. A great recommendation and delicious as well. The four of us all slept very well in our room which was comfortable and charming. Would highly recommend and return if ever in the area.

A 2 day stay to break a long trip to Italy - great hotel away from the bustle of Lucerne but close enough to all the sites and the lake. Absolutely fantastic food. Wonderful staff.

In terms of value this hotel is really over priced. No Lift, iron, ironing board, tea/ coffee making facilities, low / hard bed, no comfy chairs in the room, poor TV channels, poor breakfast ( just a few items or choice and not much of it plus the same few things for 7 days ) , the " bar " is a joke no choice and expensive ( £35 for 3 Brandies ) the list is endless. Enjoy a meal in the Restaurant and run up a bill circa £150 for two in a heart beat !! Unless you have plenty of cash and little desire for comfort, then stay away.

Good, close to city

A very clean hotel in the most wonderful setting, some of the rooms have views of the mountains! Staff very helpful. I ate there on my first night, in the Bistro section. The food is what I can only describe as "high-end ridiculous". Extremely expensive, and very confusing, such as 'wasabi ice cream' and raspberries, oranges and melon pieces, mixed into the gravy of the meat dish!! Portions of rice, so small that they almost weren't worth bothering with. I can only assume the the customers eating in the 'posh' section of the restaurant had better experiences, or more money than taste.the other aspects of the hotel are all excellent. Such a shame. I would have preferred more 'honest' food.

Wonderful hotel . Had spacious balcony ,very private . The view was wonderful . The local bus stopped right in front of hotel. The restraunt was closed but looked upscale. Only negative was no elevator . However the hotel staff helped with my luggage.

when i went there it wasn't busy as normal, cuz Jan, this hotel contained river view, one thing i didn't like most about was unfriendly old female staff who around 60ish~70ish was working to serve the tea or coffee at breakfast, i just normally don't drink any coffee or tea she was staring me strangely than i just saw what she was doing grumbling to me , lol apart from her everyone was frienly , nice , but you need to know there doesn't have any lift , jaja anyway compare to standard of SWISS prices. it was not bad,

I took the superior room - well worth it. Pros: 1. Sweeping mountain and lake views 2. Big balcony 3. Good sized room 4. Very clean and comfortable 4. Great staff 5. Great breakfast 6. Short bus ride to Lucern proper. Cons: 1. Small tv 2. Switzerland is generally very expensive This was the best overall hotel experience in my European holiday.

Beautiful setting, great view from hotel room and dining area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
