Hotel Alpenroyal

Sauna and pool area was so nice. Also, the area for skis and boot/glove drying area was an amazing feature!

Very nice staff and a large, clean room. However, the indoor pool is unheated and there was no restaurant open in the evening. Also the room was draughty.

Excellent Staff Service! They prepared packed breakfast for us as we had to catch our 6:30am train. Hotel Alpenroyal is also convenient as there is a lift to the town area. The view of the Matterhorn is superb!

All of the staff that we encountered at the hotel were incredibly nice and generous. They all spoke multiple languages and always greeted us with a smile. Views from the rooms were amazing! Easy walk into the center of town. Would definitely go back.

Free shuttle from Zermatt train station to Hotel can be arranged by calling the hotel at the train station. Sizeable room with a nice toilet. Great view (of Matterhorn) from the room. Nice breakfast.

We arrived by train and inquired at the Tourist Office as to how to to get the hotel. The clerk called the hotel and within 5 minutes we were picked up by an electric vehicle. We were a few hours ahead of check in time but the clerk at the desk checked us in as the room was ready. The room was spacious, clean and from our window we could see the Matterhorn. Upon exiting the hotel, crossing the street, there is an elevator that takes you down to a tunnel, and from there you take a short walk to the main streets of Zermatt. Breakfast was amazing.

My kids said it was the coziest hotel they’ve ever stayed at. 10 star view of the Matterhorn from the hotel.
