International au Lac Historic Lakeside Hotel

My husband booked this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised by the location and the hotel itself. The room was not large and we did not have a view, only one small window but bathroom was renovated and the room was comfortable and very clean. The location was amazing, across from the lake and in the centre of Lugano with shopping and lots of restaurants. The SNL boat cruise docks were across the street and close by. We never had to take our car out of the garages because we could walk to almost all the sites including the funicular to San Salvatore. The service was excellent. It was one of the best hotel breakfasts we had on the trip and this was a 3 star not a 4 star as we had stayed in previously. We would definitely stay at this hotel in the future and recommend it.

First off, the location was amazing and a big part of the reason we booked it, but we also read some good reviews around the staff and that turned out to be incredibly true. We came in (6 tired ladies with a lot of baggage) after an overnight flight and they had us sorted in no time, bags stowed and up to the free coffee bar a level up to refuel us. We shopped for a while and upon return, all bags were in our rooms. Everything was very clean and we had a room with an amazing panorama view/balcony. There is a very lovely pool area that we sat for a few hours one afternoon as well. The breakfast room was also very pleasant - good offerings and service as well. We forgot to take note of the woman who was so helpful at the desk but the other kind person there was Yvan. They were an amazing team!
