Apartamentos Suites Santa Cruz

Property was in a very convenient location - a few minutes walk to Cathedral and main sights. Property was easy to find & clean. Only basic utensils provided - no chopping board, dustpan or wine glasses. Some noise early evening from restaurant nearby but closing the shutters kept that out. For nearest supermarkets, search for Carrefour Express.

Bed sheets were ultra thin and made the bed uncomfortable. Pillows were the thinnest I have ever had the misfortune to use. Every night at 3AM, the garbage truck is in the street collecting, with hydraulic motors grinding, and loud banging. One night, at 5AM, two empty laundry carts were wheeled down the cobble-stone street. Of course our windows are open; it was 30deg C during the day. Our front desk person, Carlos, during check-in, said if we ever need anything, to come ask and they would help. Our two free Nespresso coffee pucks were not replaced after our first morning. We went to ask Carlos for replacements. Carlos could not find any replacements that would fit our Nespresso machine in our room. He said come down the next morning to the hotel's cafe for coffee. OK. The next morning, we show for coffee. The lady at the front desk says Carlos is mistaken. The coffee is provided with the paid buffet. I said, "OK, so you have coffee available in the cafe, no?" She repeats strongly that the coffee comes with the full buffet and denies us to go get a coffee. Not a nice person or stay at Santa Cruz

We visited this place during New Year and our first thought was WOW! Until we noticed in the night the extremly thin walls on the backside of the bed. We heard our neighbours lovemaking and shattering which made us feel very uncomfortable so we asked for a new room. The hotelgroup was very serviceminded and gave us another room at another place. It wasent an other apartment but it was quiet and just as close in the old city as the other and we slept good and our vacation wasent destroyed. Unfortunatly our earplugs didnt work to keep out the sound at Suits Santa Cruz but as long as you get quiet neighbours you will definitly like it here.

Instructions for check in were not clear. When we arrived there had been a plumbing issue that made the whole place stink. Our apartment stunk when we moved in and the electricity was out. Once we notified the reception, they fixed it rapidly (both smell & electricity) Bed wasn't comfortable and whole building was very loud. We could hear the gentleman snore from the room opposite the wall.

Friendly crew, not too well organise Not too clean couch & highly unpleasantly, visibly stained occasional chair, no mini fridge,nor did we get the unit I reserved but below level of it. Yet charming, old ,cute somehow, authentic old wood, building, tiles

it took quite a while to get our keys and then they did not work very well. You get in through the first door and then the second door (into lobby) would not open. Had to try several times every time we went back to the apartments. The door to the actual apartment worked well. More instructions on how to use the key card with the two front doors.

The apartment was very noisy next to the front door and we also could hear the people up stairs all through the night and the next morning. The room was also overly heated on arrival (in winter) and there was no AC to cool it down except a ceiling fan. The room is even a bit too warm at night time for my liking. Staff said that the AC is switched off in winter to keep the room warm enough at night. Still not pleasant during the day. The room is also smaller than it looks on the wide angle photos.

The good news:- it is absolutely ideally located for everything in the old town. There is a roof terrace with plunge pool at the hotel that can be used which they don't tell you about! The free walking tour is worth doing especially on a first trip to Seville to help get your bearings. Now for the bad: Having booked a ground floor twin room 5 months in advance, we were given a double on the first floor. After complaining and insisting on seeing the manager he eventually got us an incredibly uncomfortable camp bed for our first night. They did give us the room we had booked for the remaining 2 nights - but with stained linen on one of the beds. The breakfast is not a buffet as stated - it is very much portion controlled on a tray. Only one coffee capsule per person allowed (more available at additional cost). It is very noisy with banging doors (2 heavy front doors and each individual suite) going most of the night as well as a noisy pedestrian street with no double glazing. The nearest taxis can get to the hotel/suites is less than a 5 min walk. Not all suites have a kettle -so if you need one, check it is there. Apart from stained linen the rest was clean enough but housekeeping and some of the receptionists (not Alejandro) need re-training.

Very nice staff but disappointed that we didn’t get a full service room - ours had poor lighting and very small bathroom.
