Hotel Monopol

No AC, no AC, no AC. And it's summer. That's what we didn't even think about. Noise as expected since it's close to the main station.

If I could give this place more stars I would. It’s in a great location, especially if you want to take a day trip to the station. I walked everywhere. ALL of the hotel staff exceeded my expectations and were genuinely accommodating. Clean and comfy. I would stay here again!

Safe spacious and walkable

Clean hotel right by the train station.

This is a good and very convenient hotel next to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof; I just used it the second time, and intend to continue using it whenever I have to travel to Frankfurt. It is not a chain hotel, it has a bit old-fashioned style, which I like. If there is one thing to object to, it is the city of Frankfurt, especially the area around the railway station; I feel in the last ten years drug use and prostitution have increased there worse than anywhere else in Germany. But the immediate area of the hotel is ok.

Expedia should not even offer this property on their site. This is one of the worst properties I’ve ever booked. We did not stay after seeing our room and were willing to lose our money - it was that terrible. Smelled of cigarette smoke all throughout, lack of maintenance throughout, dirty bathroom, torn curtains, and large contingency of homeless people on the corner. I wish I could attach photos.

Room was hot, street was loud outside until 1am, drug addicts wandering the street, hotel is kind of aged and a little dirty. Would not recommend staying around the train station, or at least not right next to as this hotel is.

No AC during summer.

Staff is super friendly, from front desk to associates at breakfast. All associates were super nice. Property on the other hand is very old and looks unsafe. Area has a lot of drug use and homeless. Might be because it’s right by the train station. Rooms are old and dated, beds feel like cots including very cheap pillows. But the staff themselves are increadible! Very nice and accommodating. Place should have guards in front though because it’s in a very dirty and unsafe area.

The hotel provided a large room, though it was run down. The bathroom was nice. Located across from the train station, which is convenient, but also means that there are a lot of people, not all safe characters.
