Alberghetto La Marianna

It is small family owned hotel. 500m from the ferry terminal. the room was simple, but had all necessary amenities. The window was facing backyard, which was great, as the hotel is facing the main road circling the Lake Como and traffic there almost never stops, so back-facing room was very quiet! The Lady owner was very helpful, provided us with all hints an tips about moving around, discounts for visiting villas. The breakfast was served on the separate terrace across the road - nice shady place on the lake shore. The menu was regular continental, all fresh, and they make you omelets to your taste. Coffee was fresh an tasty Italian. Hotel has it's own restaurant running at night, but we didn't use it, as we dined while traveling around.

The hotel is clean, the staff was excellent, and friendly. The European style breakfast was great. We use the water ferrys to move around and to get our car to the opposite side of the lake. Great experience beautiful location. Nothing fancy but a great practical home base for our stay.

The Albergetto La Marianna is an absolute gem. We were made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The location is perfect with only a 5 mins walk to the Ferry across to Bellagio and then onto Varenna. Breakfast on the terrace is a lovely treat. highly recommend this wonderful hotel .

We just thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Paola and Ty. This is a homely,friendly and impeccably run accomodation right on the lake. The breakfasts and dinner were wonderful and we would return in a heartbeat. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts and they are charming people.

Absolutely loved our first night. So much so we booked another two nights less than a week later. Great host very knowledgeable about the location and best way to get about.

The owner of the property is very nice and would help us with anything we asked. She also gave us discounted tickets for Villa La Carlotta which is walking distance.

great to eat breakfast overlooking the lake, but difficult to find food in the area in the evening other than the expensive attached gourmet restaurant. easy walk to the ferry. friendly staff, but the room could do with updating.

We loved this hotel although it wont suit everyone. I knew what to expect based on previous reviews and it lived upto expectations. Small family run, owners couldn't have been more helpful, parking very close by. Best bits were position right on the lakeside and freshly cooked locally sourced food. It is right on a busy main road which wouldn't suit everyone and I wouldn't have been happy with young children there, although it did quieten down through the night. Dinner in evening was a fixed menu but varied and delicious however you need to be able to eat most things to fully enjoy it. Breakfast buffet was delicious. Good old fashioned style and hospitality with modern conveniences like air con and Wifi as well.

We stayed 4 days late July. Small hotel just over the road from the lake. The rooms were simply furnished, and with a tiny balcony looking over to the breakfast terrace next to the lake. Those breakfasts were again simple but perfectly formed - choice of eggs and a cold buffet of breads meat cheese. perfectly ripe fruit and home-made preserves etc. All served on the shady terrace with amazing views. Didn't have dinner there as the menu did not have many choices that appealed, but plenty of restaurant options in Menaggio. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
