We stayed here with our large family. We needed 3 rooms. Due to the public holiday we had to purchase a package which I thought was quite pricy compared to Hungarian prices. We paid over $2000 for 3 night for 3 rooms with half boarding. So breakfast and dinner included. When we arrived, and was shocked how old and ugly the building was. We entered the hotel and was a bit relieved. The rooms were good size and comfortable. Nothing fancy or super new, just good old comfy. Buffet breakfast and dinner. Plenty of food and plenty to choose from. Drinks were not included. The best part of this hotel is that it has direct access to the thermal spa via an underground tunnel. So you can walk back and force whenever you want in your hotel provided robes. The spa has Several swimming pools for kids and adults outside and inside. A few of hot pools to soak in temperature singing from 34-38. Aquaerobic classes 2x day. Included in the entry. Not sure it is on all year round or this was an extra service, but it was great. If you pay extra you can enter the theam Park part of the spa where there are several slides and what not. As we had small kids we decided to stay in the general area. It is l cared on a huge property with several restaurants and eateries to choose from for your lunch. We had 4 kids under 6 with us and had a great time. Will surely return here.

Nice hotel, room is clean but not so big, bathroom also, nice breakfast, parking is available, good price for accommodation which include use of near magnificent spa and aquapark (which is connected to hotel with a warm corridor), aquapark has indoor and outdoor pools, with hot, worm or cold water, coffee bars and restaurants are in the complex of aquapark, I spent very nice time with family.

We stayed at Freya for a long weekend with our 4 years old son. The staff is very friendly but unfortunately only one lady speaks English. The room is comfortable, but the style of the rooms and the hotel are awful. On the other side, the food was also very good.

The pools was very nice , very good place.But i dont like that staff dont speak english, only german it is very difficult to speak with staff.I dont like this. But the hotel and the food was good.And is very chip.I like this.

We stayed at Freya for 5 nights. Room was spacious enough but not well cleaned at all. Carpet was dirty and I had to ask to change the bedding as I could smell it was not changed also they do not use pillow and duvet protector which is very unhygienic. No kettle in the room to have a cup of tea or something. The style of the rooms are horrible, the door was not soundproof at all so you could hear the children running along the corridor. Only the staff were really kind and helpful, waiters as well. Food was average nothing special. I found the restaurant clean and buffet was relatively kept clean.

This hotel has very nice people working at the reception. We stayed at this hotel Sept. 22nd to 26th. You must use a key to open your door and leave the key at the reception. We found it a little confusing to find our way to the different pools. You walk in an underground corridor. Easy to go as you are going down but a little tiring to come back because you are going up. Benches are available to rest. The rooms are very clean.The only thing I did not like was that the toilet is apart from the rest of the washroom. It is enclosed by itself. Maids very helpful. I wanted different pillows and they found some for me. (my husband speaks Hungarian)Good food. Lots of choice at the buffet. Must understand or read Hungarian or German because you won't know what you are eating. No hairdryer in the rooms but you can borrow one at the front desk. Lots of customers. Not easy to find a chair at the different baths. Some customers reserve a chair by putting a towel at different baths right after breakfast. Curtains in room could be changed. Carpets in room. Rooms quiet with good lighting and balcony. It is a big and busy hotel. Nice pastry and coffee shop at walking distance.

We stayed at Freya for three nights wth older children. We picked it up because it s the only hotel in Zalakaros with the connection with thermal spa (via tunnel), which turned to be practical when it was raining outside.The hotel itself is generally ok, rooms are clean, spacious enough, beds are a bit too soft, bathroom is ok - hair dryer available on a request. Carpets are clean but spotted and together with grey-like bed linen and towels are the main reason of some negative impression. Hotel stuff was kind, meals were correct, but nothing special. I expected more choice for breakfast, dinner was ok. WIFI worked in a hotel, in thermal spa and in a city center. All imperfections are easily forgot when comming to thermal spa, nice, tidy place which offers both relaxation and fun. Our kids were delighted!

Well you don't expect a big change in such small time. Mostly "see my review from 2013 dec 4". Some differences we found is the main bed was better. Either all got changed or just the earlier room had the very very soft one. The faucet of the bathtub was a creepy, needed a pretty big force to open/close. As it turned out the bathtub itself is a slippery hazard for smaller kids when having a shower. Last time we had a garden view, now it was a main-street/thermal bath view. It is a bit louder, not disturbing -- a few buses pass. The room is east facing, but curtains are good enough to make the room dark in the morning.

The hotel is faceing to the spa (on the other side of the main road), you can use a tunnel which links the hotel and the spa. Rooms are equipped with TV, WIFI, bathrooms are small. Staff is friendly, cuisine is everage. You can play pool, kids room is not well eqipped.
