Villa Angela

Excellent hotel, with amazing views of Mt Etna, and incredibly helpful staff. Only downside was the beds and pillows, which made for a bit of a restless and painful sleep for myself and my traveling companion. Only other quibble was with the weak coffee, which in Italy is a shame. Otherwise, it would have been perfection. A great value for the price.

The hotel is located high above the town and has an amazing view. It's relaxing and quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle below.

Very good accommodation and very accomodating staff. One small issue to help the hotelier - urine has inpregated the tiles around the toilet therefore there is a reminate odour in its vicinity.

Fine place to stay but nothing outstanding. Also requires shuttle bus to get into town.

Only spent one night at this excellent hotel perched (almost everything in Taormina is perched ...)on the western side of the promontory just below the castle ruins and the Rocca della Madonna church. Looks straight towards Mt. Etna with a wonderful view to the southwest. Convoluted route up the hill to get there and multiple hairpin turns, but they have free parking on their roof. (Follow the signs to Castelmola.) They run a frequent shuttle service with a van up and down the hill to one end of the main street of Taormina. There is an extra charge for the shuttle if you are there multiple days, but none for a couple of trips. There is also a steep stairway down the hill to town center; walk up to Rocca della Madonna first, and then down; takes 20 to 30 minutes to walk down to center of Taormina. Helpful front desk staff. Had a large and comfortable room with a partially covered terrace facing Etna. Stunning view. Modern bathroom. Dining room not open every evening, at least in April, but it was the night we were there and was quite good. Standard Sicilian menu. There is a huge breakfast buffet. Would stay here again. Highly recommend.

It has a stunning outlook, very clean and staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. I would have liked the restaurant to be open in the evening and one little negative was the pillows were a little hard! Overall it is a fantastic place to stay and would thoroughly recommend it.
