Hotel Falken

Stay in this hotel for one night, my girl friend got bite from some kind of the insect crawling up from under bed, she got bite six or seven spot, stills swollen and itching until now, I have to turn on the lights and stay up to watch over her and let her go to sleep, I killed four of them, have blood all over the bed sheet, I don't know that is bed bug or what kind of the insect, very scares and unbelievable.

Location was key in Lucerne, and Hotel Falken was quite walkable to everything--train station, boat launch, river, old town.

We had great weather. The location was great. The A C was a little lacking, but we had a great time.

Booking was fine until 2 days before and our travels had already started. We received an email informing us that we need to cancel as Expedia had made a mistake as they had no rooms. As you can imagine this put stress on us to try and find another hotel in this busy location at short notice. The afternoon before the original check in, the hotel emailed us again to let us know they did have a room. As we hadn't managed to find another hotel we were pleased. However our happiness was short lived - on arrival the staff were not welcoming, the room was extremely small (2 people couldn't move around the bed at the same time even though the only other furniture were two bedside cabinets, wooden chair and fold down table). As we walked in the heat was stifling and the air smelt of fondue. Also the wiring looked hazardous, European adaptors couldn't be used and the air conditioning was a plug in electric fan. Basically it did not live up to their description - a very disappointing experience. We would encourage people not to book.

We did not have a good time at the Falken Hotel in Luzern. The lighting was poor and the room itself was not clean. We had to leave the window open overnight because of the lack of air conditioning, and were awakened early in the morning by an obnoxiously loud delivery truck. All of these things would have been bearable on their own, but what really ruined our stay was the fact that we encountered bed bugs of all sizes crawling on the ceiling, curtains, and beds. We did not see a single staff member on the day of our checkout, and were instead instructed to drop our key card into a bin and leave. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location,small room but was okay,the bed we had was uncomfortable

One night stay - Sat 5th to Sun 6th May 2018 Extremely unsatisfied with the room. We had booked a double room to begin with and were allocated a room with a bunk bed. We had no choice but to accept it as we were told there were no other rooms available as we couldn't at that time refuse the room and search for another hotel. We were offered a drink each on the house to apologise for the inconvenience caused. The mattresses were terrible and the bed extremely squeaky. Both my partner and I ended up with a sore back the next morning not the mention barely any sleep. The lighting in the room was terrible, the bathroom was extremely small with no room to move around. The overall layout of the room was abysmal. Both my partner and I banged our heads several times due to the bunk bed. It is a low star rated hotel, hence didn't expect luxury but a basic level of comfort would have been nice, which I strongly believe this hotel lacked. I do not usual leave such negative reviews and we could not complain in the morning as there was no one at the front desk, but as a matter of principle we thought we'd share our experience as we felt like we didn't receive what we paid for. Also for anyone with a sensitive sense of smell, the cheese fondue from the restaurant was not pleasant.

Great part of town, near restaurants, history, shopping, markets, and train station. Room was spare, but priced great for location. Great staff.
