Ritter Hotel

We booked for three nights in late September 2014; we were looking for something reasonably priced, yet central for a three day layover between flights. I usually check reviews, but on this occasion had to make a decision very quickly and made a quick booking on the basis of the hotel's location, price and quaint appearance, without checking other visitors' reviews. BIG MISTAKE! The room was tired, with stained and spotted carpets, and the bathroom was ok. For the price, I wasn't too concerned about these issues, but when we were woken at 3am by the noise of a drunken football crowd in the bar directly below our room, screaming songs and jumping up and down so much so that the whole building shook, we knew we'd made a mistake. It was only when the Police turned up about an hour or so later that the noise stopped. We bailed after one night - we simply found it impossible to sleep and weren't sure whether there'd be a repeat performance the next night. I've never posted a negative review of a hotel before; but this was such a bad experience that it couldn't be let go without saying something.

The rooms are not very clean, no toiletries are on offer. Stayed for a day on weekend, happening place around. good for getting drunk and bunking into a bed close by.

Stayed here for one night while passing through Frankfurt. Great place for the price offered. There's no air conditioning. A lot is happening around the area so don't plan on sleeping unless you brought some ear plugs. Not for a family with small children.

The hotel service was bad !!

We stayed just overnight on our way to Vienna, the hotel can use some remodeling. The room was small, no elevator, very narrow stairs. Frankfurt was be very expensive because for that price we were expenting something better. I will recomend paying more and get a better hotel.

This is a noisy part of Frankfurt, but nothing keeps me awake so it didn't bother me. The room was clean and fairly tidy, in an historic building with character - which I like. Nice staff who were helpful and spoke English very well, making up for my very poor German. I suppose in a city one might not be too surprised by the insect-life - and I only saw one small cockroach in a whole evening. However, in the same city environment there is no excuse for a poor internet connection. The 'free' internet access wasn't even worth the price. All in all . . . it was too expensive for what was supplied, even if there really was a big car show in the city that weekend.

NIce helpful staff. Sachsenhausen is not for kids and hotel is right in the middle of the loudest bar street in the area.

Cute place! Clean, comfortable, front desk 24 hours, lots to do right out front door. Safe location- feel safe even at 2 or 3 am being outside alone. This is not 4 star hotel but it's excellent for price! Parking is on street and you must pay between 8am and 6pm but other than that this place is great!! Would stay again!

If you are going to stay just for a day or two in Frankfurt, this is the place to stay, right in the middle of the most touristic place in the city, also very close by are the financial district, the river. In conclusion, if you don't have too much time but still want to visit the city, go to this hotel. The comfort is not the greatest, but decent for 1 or 2 nights max.

Was fine. Gorgeous building. Breakfast was great. Was a bit noisy at night outside but I think that was because of the soccer final.
