Ritter Hotel

Well, that was my situation. City-wide trade show had everything else in the city sold out. So, I put myself in this situation - but it was bad... bad.

シングル2部屋を予約したが、ツイン1部屋しかないと言われた。3泊中2泊はツイン1部屋で寝泊まりした。

Hotel liegt mitten in der Partymeile von Sachsenhausen. Es ist die ganze Nacht sehr laut. Selbst bei geschlossenen Fenstern hört man die Leute reden und feiern. Ist nur für Leute die gerne bis zum Sonnenaufgang ausgehen.

Das Hotel ist in der Partymeile da wird bis in die Morgenstunden laut gefeiert. Die Fenster halten keinen Lärm ab sodass Schlaf unmöglich ist. Das Hotel ist ein einziger Sanierungsstau und ich bin nicht penibel aber der Teppich ist so widerlich verdreckt, dass man die Schuhe anbehalten muss. Nie wieder. Der Mann an der Rezeption ist aber nett.

I have stayed at the Ritter three times now over seven years. It is in a fantastic location and unbelievably cheap. It is old and simple but clean and welcoming. Sure it can be noisy on a Saturday night but i had no trouble sleeping with the double glazed windows shut. I stayed four nights and one evening at about 7 pm there was a knock on the door and the duty manager apologised that there would be no breakfast in the morning although I had already prepaid. He put his hand in his pocket and solemnly counted out six euros refund. Apparently the night manager (who also gets the breakfast in the morning) wasn't available that night. I was also asked to make sure that the outside door was locked. The hotel was very quiet and I think I might well be the only person in the building that night - no staff and maybe me the only guest What a hoot! True, the wifi was poor on the third floor but good lower down. Breakfast was good and varied (when available!). Sheets and towels were clean, the water was always hot and the heating system was two large radiators whcih you could set yourself. I am going again!

The rooms and exterior, are very pretty. The place is very close to everything you'll want to see in Frankfurt. The bathrooms leave something to be desired, and they are in the process of changing the carpets in the rooms. The new carpets a fairly nice... the old ones, not so much. The staff is super freindly, which is nice since the front door is always locked, and you will have to ring the doorbell everytime you come and go. I guess that the neighborhood can get a lottle rough at night. The biggest drawback is parking. You will need to park in the public parking a few blocks away, thhis is only a problem if you are driving through Germany, not that most people do... oh and I hope you like old timey stairs.

We were staying for a exhibition at the messe. The hotel is small and basic but this is all we needed so was ideal for us. Main thing is ideal location for access to nightlife and local train station for quick transport to the fair

New Years Eve Party

Wenn man den Eingang endlich entdeckt hat, geht es mit Klingeln und Warten weiter, bis sich die Tür öffnet. Deutsch wird leider keines gesprochen, mitten in Deutschland. Zu den Zimmern führt nur eine enge Treppe. Mangels ordentlicher Zimmerbeschriftung, war die Zimmersuche nicht ganz trivial. Der schmierige Eindruck vom Hotel, geht auch im Zimmer weiter. Die Möbel sind alt, abgelebt und teils kaputt. Die Verkabelung hängt teils aus der Wand und beim Licht gibts den einen oder anderen Wackelkontakt. Sauber oder gar Hygienisch ist das Zimmer nicht, dreckige Teppiche und Vorhänge, Haare auf dem Bett. Rauchmelder waren abmontiert. Auch das Bad hat schon lange keine ordentliche Reinigung mehr gesehen. Beim Frühstück führt sich der Eindruck so weiter. Hier wird zwar versucht, mit einfachen Mitteln möglichst viel herzumachen, doch leider scheitert es bereits an sauberen Tellern.
