Aida Plaza Hotel

Great value and original charm. Period pieces and original style rooms, staircases etc. Like something from an old movie. Super friendly small hotel staff. The owner Gianpaolo is both humble and proud of the history he’s saved. Huge bargain during the Salesforce conference when chain hotels wanted $500+ per night.

Closer to city hall so the neighborhood is shall we say eclectic. Unfortunately not the best for families with little kids as the city recovers. Wireless Internet was weak but my cell signal was strong.

Nice but really old hotel. Nice and rally helpful personel. Good peice for the location.

We read opinions about homeless people near to the hotel. But we decide to make reservation anyway. It is really creepy after dark in the neighbourhood. Next time we will choose safer neighbourhood. Strange smell in the room.

We like the older gentleman that check us in. He was sweet and kind. And we like the old vibes of this hotel. There was pay phone on the 2 floor, and we used it to call home and it work🙂

This place can use some improvements with some of the furniture and the linens. And clean up little better in the entrance way. And it’s so…🥲sad to see so many homeless people on the the streets. You have walk by them to get to the hotel.

Location was good

No air flow Window dropped under its own weight when opened, no aircon or fan either for circulation. Having the main door locked after entry/exit and having to knock to be let in.

I did stay at this hotel in July 2019 and at their regularly posted rates, they are clean and a good value for the rates charged. I booked a confirmed room for $110 a night on Agoda on June 13, 2023 for three nights. Around July 15, the Aida Plaza informed me that the rate was too low and since my dates of September 20-23 was high seasons. They demanded $190 per night take it or leave it. This was a 72 percent increase on a confirmed reservation! I left it and found a much better deal closer to Downtown SF. Message is: be very careful booking this hotel. They do not honor the rates they confirm to you. Perhaps they have small print that they can make these capricious pricing changes. If so, they are an outlier!
