Palazzo Belmonte

If the worst thing that you can say about the Palazzo Belmonte is that the hairdryer supplied was awful, then you know that you're onto a winner. If you want a holiday of pure relaxation then this place is for you. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful, the setting is truly magical and as for the food - you could want for no more. There really is everything you could want at breakfast including wonderful homemade jams. Lunches taken next to the pool area are particularly delicious. If you're looking for glitz then this isn't for you but if you are looking for a tranquil haven then you'll be happy. I thought it worth mentioning that although there aren't lots of steps you do need to be able to 'do' steps as there are a fair few but nothing the average person couldn't manage. The old part of the Palazzo is glorious to look at and I would imagine to stay in, but we have stayed twice now in the garden rooms (I have no idea exactly what they call them). They are fairly new but not generically hotel modern. They are spotless, comfortable and elegantly but simply furnished with attention to detail. The room we take has a large terrace with sun loungers, wicker chairs and a sea view broken up by trees. The reception staff are always happy to recommend somewhere for dinner and wherever it is is only a short walk away. You literally go out of a little gate in the back wall to their private beach (never a rush for sun loungers) or go out of their front gate and you're on the edge of the small town. Apart from a decidedly indifferent meal at Le Gatte, we ate really well everywhere. We particularly love the fact that when we go out we seldom hear any English being spoken It is an area beloved by Italians unlike higher up on the Amalfi coast. Going back to the hair dryer. It blows like a hurricane either hot or cool. If you like your hair in a style, bring your own!

I am lost for words trying to explain how amazing and beautiful this place is. I do not think there is another place on earth that can top what Palazzo Belmonte is and can offer. We spend a week here in three generations (my parents, my sister and our children) and I think each and every one of our group would agree 100% to my review. Palazzo Belmonte is unique in every way possible. First of all, the place looks a hundred times more beautiful in real life than in any of the pictures. Secondly the staff together with the owners make you feel so welcomed and are willing do everything in their power to make your stay EVEN better. Perfection! We stayed in the garden rooms with terrace/balcony overlooking the sea and enjoyed the privacy and the view to the fullest. The breakfast served in the restaurant was very nice, access to the pool (really good in size must admit) and beach convenient. Loungers available all day with fresh towels and drinks/snacks available for order. What more could one hope for on her holiday. Lastly the location of the Palazzo is what makes it even more amazing, if possible. It takes you literally 2 minutes to walk outside the gates and you are in the beautiful little village of Santa Maria di Castellabate with some great choices for dinner and small shopping + best ice cream! We are already dreaming of our next visit to this place! Thank you Francesca, Chiara, Vincenzo, Maria and all the team. <3

The grounds were absolutely stunning. This is our second time staying there and plan on staying there again.

What a magical place. Beautiful hotel, pool, beach, garden grounds, and historic old town all right there. The staff were so considerate, and the owners lovely and interacting every day with guests. We can’t wait to make this our spot for our annual Italian family holiday, and to return every year.

Nothing - it was all heaven!

This hotel has been transformed by Francesca into a welcoming place to stay.The beautiful gardens are pristine with a very well designed swimming pool area and nearby casual restaurant for breakfast and lunch. From the far end of the grounds, with showering and changing facilities, there is access to their part of the beautiful Castellabate beach. The end of the beach connects to the relaxed promenade. The rooms are in the Palazzo and around the grounds, well looked after. There is an ample choice of restaurants in the town, all within a pleasant walk from the hotel.
