Alegre - Bussaco Boutique Hotel

Wonderful retreat - Wifi was limited and everything else was perfect. Very friendly staff and great ambiance.

The room I had was absolutely beautiful and comfortable.

This one is a charming hotel in a beautiful victorian house. I fell in love with it as soon as I arrived. The room was nice and confortable but not specialyl luxury. The bath was simple with a shower plate (no bathtub sadly...) It have a small parking and a small poll enough for 5 to 6 persons I think. ADVICE! It´s an old house so there IS NOT elevetor! you wil find some stair in your way to your room. Luso (the village) is also charming, with a small lake, victorian houses and some good places to eat something.

Alegre is an old charming hotel, managed by the família that owns the hotel. We were very well welcome, and everyone's were very nice. The breakfast is nice but not great, but in general my family like it. The room was big, but without air conditioner. The swimming pool is nice . Overall was a good two day stay . The only problem we had, was with the wifi. Didn't work during our stay.

We highly recommend this hotel. We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable, clean, lofty old home. The building is full of character and speaks to the long history of Luso. The staff and owners were happy, friendly and offered amazing advice on what to do in the area. They have a great understanding of the regional and national history too, and we had great conversations. Luso is a quiet mountainside town and the hotel has lovely views. Important natural springs run through the town and there are nice restaurants. Luso is also a great home base for day trips (by car...) in all directions. We could have planned more time simply relaxing in Luso at Alegre Hotel - by the pool and in the reading room. We'll go back.

We loved this family owned hotel in a pittoresque village that provided all we needed.

Enjoyed my stay at Alegre. Old fashioned but quaint, clean and comfortable hotel. Only down side didn't have a bath which my receipt said I would have, when arriving back to hotel late at night felt like was keeping owners up to let us in and pool bar was closed so no hot or cold drinks available at all during the day. Would recommend if visiting the area.Staff polite and friendly.

Staff was very helpful. They spoke some English which was appreciated by us in planning our stay's activities and dining. Location in town was central with ample parking. Hotel was an old mansion that has been renovated but still retained much of the original grandeur. Wifi was appreciated but not sure if an overhead fan would be able to be added. The room was warm. They could not help the neighbor's all night barking dog. The breakfast was filling. There is no elevator. If we are ever in Luso again we would stay.

Lovely pool in peaceful garden and a beautiful old manor house packed with history. Excellent value for money, highly reccommended.
