"Poor wifi connection"

4.0

Generally everything is ok except the wi-fi. Very difficult to get connection unless we station ourselves at the room entrance or in the toilet. Service could be better. Upon checking in, we were provided only the password to the wi-fi but not the name of the network. There were 2 networks named Viaroma, but 1 with a hyphen. So we have to try our luck to see which network works and it was so frustrating.

"Misleading... no four stars here!"

4.0

This hotel was fine if you are looking for a bed, but lacking if you were looking for something beyond that. It is just a clean place to sleep. This isn't a property that will evoke any type of experience other than underwhelming. It is attached to a restaurant, and you can smell it in the halls. My hall smelled like fish... everyday. The parking is minimal, and the neighborhood is very residential. It served it's purpose, but I wouldn't stay there again. If it was 70 Euros a night it would be less disappointing.

"in their dreams 4*"

4.0

This hotel is an old building that now has a pizza restaurant on the ground floor. Why do I start with this? The supposed free parking is entirely taken by the restaurant and others, and the parking area is a rat maze. Upon entering into the lot with only inches to spare, making zero-clearance turns, we found no available spaces and had to exit backwards onto the busy street. Even the few spaces on the street were taken by restaurant patrons, so we had to unload on the sidewalk and park the car blocks away on a side street. Probably an economy measure, but the lobby is left open to the outdoors with a back door to the patio dining area, and people smoke right outside, making the lobby smoke-filled. They botched our room type, having two twin beds pushed together for both rooms, when we had ordered one with divided beds and one double. Free wifi? not in our room, not a sniff of signal, had to go down to the lobby to get e-mail. There is nothing at all in the way of alternative breakfast venues, so either pay their 12-Euro or wait 'til you get into the city. Coffee is not available until 0700 and they charge for it, 2.80 for a bad self-serve machine cappuccino! Desk staff rotated among surly, haughty (one who obviously thought herself pretty and too good for this menial work), and downright rude. General cleanliness in the room was ok but not the bathroom (finding someone's band-aid atop the shower wall). A/C unit inadequate for the room, and would not go under 20C.

"Great Hotel"

10.0

Parking on site was limited however we were lucky enough to get one right at the back door. The room was large and comfortable with a great bathroom. You can walk to the town centre in about 20 minutes or you can catch the number 5 trolley bus from more or less in front of the hotel. We didn't have breakfast included so we can't comment but there are heaps of places in town. Hotels in Salzburg for some reason are more expensive than most other cities so if your after a reasonably priced place to stay in Salzburg you can't go past Hotel Via Roma

"Short visit"

10.0

The hotel was excellent. If you do not mind to walk 15-20 minutes to the old city, that would be your choice. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not included, but for 12 euros they provide very good breakfast. It my be a little pricy, but they have a lot of food.
