Hotel Via Roma

Located not to far from the city centre, and a bus ride from just outside the front door, this is a great venue. It had proper climate controlled air-conditioning, which was a boon in the 35+ celsius temperatures, and the envy of many on my tour of the lakes area, who had so-called 5 star accommodation with much less sophisticated (or effective) systems. A thoroughly modern room where everything worked, The WiFi was a bit flaky in my room, but fine downstairs or at the end of my hallway. Very nice en-suite, in fact the best I have seen so far in 2 months on the road. The only let-down was the restaurant was closed due to some equipment malfunction. The beer was cold and there were complimentary nuts and pretzels. Parking out the back was easy, and there was a lovely grassed garden area to lounge in as well. A really good facility. Good staff, too.

Excellent hotel for the price. Good location for walking into town only 15 -20 mins. Very clean with modern bathroom. Would highly recommend.

Very friendly desk staff that spoke English very well. A short walk to most of the sights, but not in a busy neighborhood so you don't have to worry about being kept up at night with noise. Great value as well. Attached restaurant is convenient for dinner, and breakfast buffet is well stocked, and was worth it despite the extra cost. Room was spacious and clean.

We stayed there for two nights. We really enjoyed the location. It is walking distance from the heart of Salzburg. The rooms were large and clean. Parking is free but very limited and shared with a restaurant. The Italian restaurant downstairs is excellent. We would definitely stay there again and probably will next year when we return to Austria

My husband and I spent two nights at Via Roma in June. We found the room to be very functional and clean. The A/C unit really cranked when set to its coldest setting. NOTE: it won't turn on if the windows are open. The bathroom was very spacious, although we both found the shower a bit hazardous. The floor was slippery and the cover to the shower gel dispenser fell off when depressed. The heated towel rack however saved us when we got caught out in the rain and had to dry our clothes. The staff was helpful when we asked for directions around town. The two front desk associates we encountered both spoke English well. The restaurant connected to the hotel was good and reasonably priced. All in all our stay was enjoyable. We would recommend Via Roma.

Nice hotel 15 mins walk from old town, staff were very friendly happy to help with printing and taxi to the airport. Room was very clean comfortable bed. I booked few days before arrival and was good value still.

Staff performed exemplary personal service to helping me solve a personal problem. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Hotel Via Roma was a great stay. We were starving after a long ride and were pleasantly surprised to see an italian restaurant attached to the hotel. It was a great spot for dinner! The hotel also has parking! It is about a 15minute walk to the city center. Our room was a great size, and very clean. Worth the stay!

Guys, its very nice hotel with MAGNIFICENT view of Salzburg fortification castle! Its literary $1 000 000 worth view from your room and bathroom windows! Hotel itself is spacious, beautify located - if you like exploring places on foot, you dont need any public transportation (even though the bus stop is next door). Just take a map from the hotel register and walk to the Old City by the walls of Salzburg fortress through the old streets. It wouldn't take you long and the views are... to kill for! Back to the hotel: its got the most comfortable and really big, clean and all over nice rooms and big bathrooms. The beds were just heavenly great for us. We are 117 and 168 pounds and the beds are nicely soft for us. Parking is free. The hotel has got great breakfast room and great for the value breakfast, dont miss it. Italian restaurant next door is popular within locals and has got great price and quality selection - recommended! Check it out instead of getting into tourist trap in Old City.

Great view! You can see the castle from your room. 15 min walk to old town or take number 5 bus in front of the hotel. Plus they have a Italian restaurant downstairs that's actually cheaper than the tourist spots in old town.
