Hotel agradável e muito confortável. Mesmo ao lado do santuário. Pequeno almoço bom e variado.

We stayed here for one night on our Exoticca tour of Portugal. I wasn't here very long, so I can't give that comprehensive of a review. Instead, I'll say that it was the nicest of the hotels we stayed in on our trip (not that that's saying much). Still, it was very average. The room was nice and modern. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was sleek. Still, it had no discernible view to speak of. The phone in the room didn't work either, so if we had an issue, we had to go to the front desk to ask for anything. The staff was pleasant enough and accommodating. The location was right near the town center, so it was easy to walk around. The biggest negative is the breakfast. The food quality was subpar and it didn't have a wide variety of choices. It also opened up pretty late for us, considering we only had like 20 minutes or so to eat before we had to get ready to go. Overall, not the worst hotel in the world. You could do worse (and on this Exoticca tour, there was much worse).

Burnt out lights, no tissue, no bidet towels, no hair conditioner, no mini fridge, no coffee maker, no extra blanket, no extra pillow, 3 hangers and single ply toilet paper; and that was just the room. The hotel restaurant is another flop. We decided to try the supper/dinner buffet and in my opinion you should never leave a buffet hungry yet we did. None of the food was marked to say what it was, serving spoons were used for more than one item creating cross contamination, no water on the table and when you asked for water you received at most a 1/2 cup and then they took the water away, and no salt or pepper on the table. I started with a bowl of unknown soup and while I was eating the server took my bowl away; he didn’t even ask he just grabbed it. I had a salad plate next and then moved on to the entrees and by the time I reached those, the warming trays were almost empty, the mixed vegetables were cold, there was no fish, the fish spoon was used in the rice which was also cold, there were 3 pieces of chicken floating in a warming tray of oil and believe me you could not taste the chicken just the oil as it dripped off of the piece (uck). We asked for wine, which we did receive and as the other couple started eating their dessert a man came over and was very abrupt and rude and demanded payment for the glasses of wine. The breakfast the following morning was even worse! The coffee line up was so long by the time you got anywhere near the table in front of the coffee machines, which were dirty, (2 machines) there were no cups and no one was replacing them. I stood in one line for over 7 minutes and was not even close to getting a cup of coffee. So if you enjoy starting your day with a fresh cup of coffee it is virtually impossible while staying at the Lux Hotel. The hot food was disgusting! Very runny scrambled eggs, burnt bacon, half cooked sausages dripping in olive oil, and what looked like canned mushrooms. There were breads and pastries, cold meats and cheeses, and the smallest skimpiest four fruit platter I have seen at a buffet. The 2 juice dispensers were dirty and I never saw a staff member refilling anything. If the hotel is referred to as a 4 star luxury hotel, I hate to think what an actual 2 star hotel experience includes.
