Lakehouse at The Waterhead Inn

Great location, friendly staff, lovely breakfast. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Lovely guest house on waterhead, handy for boat to bowness and a 20 min stroll in to the centre of Ambleside. Room clean and good size. Staff very friendly, breakfast excellent although cereals are not on the menu but if you ask they have them. The downside was thet did not go in and clean room/ change towels etc... i understand it is more difficult through COVID and i am happy not having a full service however the bins were overflowing. If you ask they come and do it so that's fine but personally i think they could pop in every other day to empty bins and change towels if nothing else. This did not spoil our break though. Overall lovely little guest house, great location and lovely staff. I would stay here again.

The room was Very spacious, clean and nice en suite. Bed very comfortable and dining area was well organised with regard to current respect for social distancing .

I selected this venue due to its location and was expecting to stay in the Lake House. I was surprised to be put in a "Hideaway" room that was in a separate building. The room was clean and tidy and was also a good size but i was disappointed not be in the main building. Also, if the hotel is full, there isn't enough car parking spaces for everyone which we weren't aware of. Staff very friendly though and excellent service but i probably wouldn't stay here again and just stay in the town itself as it was about a 15 minute walk away.

Short walk to the lake, shops, ferry, pub. Very clean room. Fantastic breakfadt and excellent service from staff. Would definitely go again.

The hotel is really nice and staff very pleasant. We stay during the heatwave and our room was very hot, it faced the sun all day so we left the window open and curtains drawn. There was a small fan in the room which did not really help. I would suggest that the room be fitted with cotton net curtains so the curtains could be left open at night and these will give privacy. I was disappointed that the room had no mirror other than a high bathroom. This made it difficult when drying and straightening hair. The food and service at breakfast was very good and team very well organised. The room was very clean and bed comfortable. Bathroom facilities good too.

Excellent location, nice clean rooms, first class breakfast. Very friendly staff. The stay would have been even better if there was provision for air con, a mini fridge in the room specially in the hot weather and in light of the price paid for the room per night.

A brilliant place to stay.

Beautiful spotless rooms along with super efficient staff who cant do enough. Over the years I have stayed in many places in the lakes often a lot more expensive. This is now my first choice of accommodation. A wonderful faultless stay.
