Hotel Silvester

We stayed at this family owned hotel the night before flying back. Our flight was very early. The owner got up to prepare breakfast for us and to bring us to the airport on time! Very impressive service.

The hotel website claimed they would provide transport to and from the Ljubljana airport any time of the day. I called the hotel when I arrived at the airport, the lady told me the car would be there in 5 minutes and it came in 5 minutes. I asked to be dropped off at the airport the next morning at 5am and the lady was waiting at the lobby at 4:55am. The hotel is more like a B&B. It is located in a small village and there is nothing around the hotel. The bed was comfortable and amenities were adequate. The bed was comfortable and amenities were adequate. Dinner was available at the restaurant of another B&B next door at a very reasonable price. Since there are no hotels near the Ljubljana airport, this is as close as it gets.

The hotel owner and staff always went out of their way to to provide transportation and anything else required. Treated like one of the family.

The hotel is small and quaint, with small but adequate rooms. Everything was clean and tidy. The only staff person I dealt with as very helpful. It is out in the country, on the edge of a small village, so don't expect any kind of night life or restaurants nearby. And the neighbors are farmers, with goats and cattle, and the accompanying smell of, um, fertilizer. Those smells don't bother me, but they might bother some people. In short, it was a very convenient and comfortable place to stay the night before I had to catch a very early flight out of the so-called "Ljubljana" airport, which is actually nowhere near Ljubljana.

Hotel Silvester is a nice family run hotel, with some pretty cool rooms. It is set in a pretty valley, with the beautiful Julian Alps just to the north. Our daughters thought the loft area beds were great. The hotel is bigger than it appears on the exterior, and the room layouts and interesting and appealing. Their breakfast is quite a treat, too. The hotel is in a little village, only about 10 minutes southeast of the airport. Catching an evening dinner in Ljubljana is an easy 15-20 minute drive, if you have a rental car. We stayed in June 2009, but could tell that it would be a great base for winter skiing nearby. In the summer, it was quite apparent that cyclists loved this part of Slovenia. We are pleased that Hotels.com has some really high-grade family-run hotels in its system, such as Hotel Silvester.
