Hotel Silvester

Hotel Silvester is what hospitality is supposed to be. If you're looking for a place that treats you like family - this is the place. No frills and no lace, just comfortable, delicious and friendly hospitality! I stayed for a month and got to know the Silvio Family pretty well.....they are extremely friendly and helpful, most generous and gracious. The evenings and early mornings were spent in friendly conversation - learning about the other and the culture we come from. I was even invited to a long honored traditional marriage ceremony held at the Bride's parents house. It was nice to see and experience bits and pieces of the culture and traditions of the region. The folk at Hotel Silvester are good honest, down-to-earth people - it was my honor and pleasure to stay with them. Hope to get to stay again.

Family operated ski lodge within minutes of the Ljuljana Airport. The owner, Silvio, personally picked me up and dropped me off at the airport. The hotel is located within a tiny farm village but the restaurant food was great and plentiful... some of the best french fries I have had! Not luxurious, but comfortable, friendly, and authentic... I highly recommend the pear schnapps as a nightcap!

Overall was very convenient for overnight stay upon late arrival and early morning departure. Not a place recommended staying longer due to being isolated and lack of facilities. The only advantage is being within 5 minutes drive from the airport.Stuff is great and amiable. Environment is pretty quiet.The hotel is a family run affair and guest are treated well.

Pretty standard. Arrive. Hope someone comes to a front desk during non-meal hours (they were out fixing something). Avert eyes and brain from sensual massage posters on search for room in labyrinth. Find room. Smell room. Get used to cow noises. Konk out. Fly home the next day. This place was pretty kooky but it was cheap, well located (near LJU) and clean. You can't really ask for more.

This is a very nice hotel.Rooms are very clean and tidy, it is very close to the ski resort and it's a quiet area so you can have a good night sleep.The owner, Silvio, is very nice. He was voery welcoming and helpful.We will definitely come back to hotel Silvester!

We stayed here for one night before our early morning flight out of Slovenia. The hotel is about 10 to 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes north of Ljubljana. Located in the small town of Vopovlje, if you blink you might miss this accommodating pension. Staff were very nice during the check-in process and helped us figure out some internet issues. It seems like a country house was turned into a pension. Rooms are all located off a rambling staircase that seems to cut up the middle of the building. Accommodations are sparse, but comfortable. We knew that we were paying for location and not a luxury retreat. One thing to note – walls are thin. We heard one couple argue very loudly for about an hour or more. It was quiet after that, but we could still hear people moving around during the night. The staff offered us use of the spa, including massages or steam rooms. We had been on the road most of the afternoon and just wanted to relax so we opted for dinner at Dvor Jezersek (don’t miss this place). We would definitely stay at Hotel Silvester again if flying out of Ljubljana. The price was right and with fine dining so close it doesn't make you miss the city. If you do not have an early morning flight, then maybe consider staying some place in Ljubljana with more amenities nearby.

After spending ten days in Slovenia, we needed a hotel close to the airport for our 7 am flight. One part of the group arrived early in the day and had a delicious meal in the restaurant. We arrived later in the evening. Loved the uniqueness of the hotel. Some rooms had a ladder on the wall with an opening in the ceiling to a loft room containing two more beds. Unique chairs in the rooms also! Owner drove us all to the airport early in the morning in a large van that fit 9 of us plus a lot of luggage! Great family run hotel!!

If staying near the airport -DO NOT, I repeat do not stay anywhere else but here!! we rated them 5/5 but really it should be 6/5: What a wonderful family run establishment. They were prompt in picking us up when we called (within 10 min) and even though we arrived early they greeted us to a warm breakfast and said the room was ready. Very helpful and would HIGHLY recommend. There is a bus into town about 40 min...not too bad at all. Loved it.
