Thapae Happy House

The place is nothing special besides the location and quite good breakfast. The staircase and rooms are unkept and walls are dirty. In our room on the 2nd floor it was very noisy, there was no view and room was dark and unpleasant. It looks worse than on pictures. We stayed only one night and for the second decided to go to another place (kampaeng) where we paid a little more but the difference was hudge. Thapae Happy House does not offer much..

Our room was pretty small and the view was of the roof. Its simple and basic but clean. The bathroom was OK and they provide us with soap, shampoo, and fresh water every day. The place is very close to the Thapae Gate which is convenient. There is also an exchange house on the same street with good prices and tuk tuk available every where.

Awesome location, a stones thro from Tha Pae gate. I paid 1500 baht, a bit pricey but you'll get a good fresh hotel with nice rooms, like-home beds, pleasant shower gels, TV with some english, german, french channels. And a choise between a 5 set breakfast on a padio facing a calm small street. Good for couples.

This is in an ideal location for visiting Chiang Mai. Helpful staff, clean comfortable rooms and a good choice for breakfast. Even though it's right on the edge of the old town and all the busy nightlife area it's down a quiet side street. I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Chiang Mai. It has a calming and charming ambience.

Friendly enough staff but the first room we were put in was ridiculous in terms of the size!.. This may pass as a small single room but for two adults with luggage was for me totally unexceptable. There was no wardrobe at all??.. So nowhere to hang anything?.. The bathroom was tiny with no space for toiletries and the shower had nowhere to put anything. We were moved on day two to a room on the 4th froor (no elevator) and was bigger but AGAIN no wardrobe space and a bathroom for one person only. In the comments it said this was a "new hotel" which it was not and then told by reception that it had just been refurbished. The two rooms we were put in had certainly not been touched in a long time and was in dire need of refurbishment. The breakfast was adequate but a bit chaotic. It is ran buy a very young staff and really not sure if they have a lot of experience but very friendly. The Internet was slow and patchy... This hotel has borderline hostel feel about it BUT with hotel prices!!.. Does not represent value for money...

Nice little hotel, but it wasn't the easiest to find as the sign is tiny. Parking is also difficult. It's in a good location though for the sights of Chiang Mai. Room was smallish, but comfortable. Breakfast is a choice of 5 set items, with extras like fruit available

Nice cozy little hotel with great staff. Everyone was so kind and very helpful. They assisted us to book different tours and taxi. There were five breakfast options and it was delicious! Room was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely go back there. Thank you for a great stay!

Will stay at this hotel my next trip to Chiang Mai. I recommend you do if your looking for a nice hotel for a decent price.
