Lion Bansko Hotel

The sauna was just about the only acceptable feature of this hotel.

Where do I start. Deplorable. The staff were just about as rude as it gets and it made the whole stay miserable. The room was uncomfortable with the temperature setting (apparently incapable of being changed) absolutely sauna-style (staff audibly laughed at me when I asked how to fix this). The bed is the sort of thing I'd imagine they give you in prison and there was a cockroach outside the balcony door. Something in the bathroom leaked leaving a nice watery pool. The ski rental shop was unmanned during opening hours so good luck getting your equipment (which also wasn't great quality). The absolute low point came when I needed to go to hospital and asked about the nearest A&E - they were zero help and sent me to what can only be described as a ramshackle concrete shed with zero facilities to actually treat a serious injury, which they seemed to find amusing. Customer service are not words any single member of their staff are familiar with. Bankso in general is a hovel and my experience of the Lion well and truly cemented that view.
