Pensión La Giraldilla

This hotel didn’t advertise it as the hostel. When I made the reservation, I asked for an attached private bathroom, but instead, they gave us a detached bathroom outside of the hallway. My wife would not dare to go out on the second night because too many people standing outside, smoking and yelling at around 2-3 am. Disappointed !

No ability to talk to owner. Couldn’t access keys. Another guest open the key box and the key for our room was broken. Just no service from the hotel at all.

I had booked a night at this hotel, but was then informed by the staff that the hotel is fully booked and so I had to go elsewhere.

If the opposite of stars weblack holes I would rate this property with 3 black holes. I arrived at the pension and no one was present to receive me. There was a hand written notice on the door instructing you to call a number. The person who answered did not speak English and there was no other person that did. After several minute of back and forth I understood that I had to punch a code into a box on the door and remove the key to my unit. As soon as I entered the vestibule a strong odor hit me. The smell was musty. I had to go through a second door with a different key. Once I entered this second area and staircase I was bombarded with the smell of rotting garbage. After lugging my luggage to the fourth floor and entering my room I was welcomed by a new odor, mold. The pictures on the hotel site on Expedia are nothing like the real thing. There is no coffee service, no little Cafe, there isn't even soap. The towels were threadbare but the beds were comfortable. Taking a shower is an adventure. The shower stall is 2 food square. The shower curtains are hung on a curtain rod made by an imbecile. Tug on the curtain and the rod breaks apart. While showering the curtains cling to you. Make any move and you shut off the shower because when it's on the handle extends about 8 inches from the wall. By the time you finish struggling through your shower, the bathroom floor is all wet and the floor mat is totally soaked.

We booked the room after looking for two single beds as mentioned in the picture. But they did not offer us the same thing(twin beds) even after informing. At the same price, we find nice hotels in the same area. I hope I will not choose this option again.

Knowing that I paid 25€ for a night, I was not expecting much. However, rooms are very small and not clean (the bedsheet had a very strong smell!). Reception doesn't have 24hr service, I spoke to a person by phone for the code to get the key. I stayed in this hotel just for sleeping (late check in & early check out) as it was very closed to the bus station, but I am not sure I'd stay here again.

It was very difficult to contact the property in order to know how to get the room keys. Team members at hotels seemed quite unprepared for such inconvenience, with Joanna suggesting to use the postcode in front of the phone number provided via the email to contact the property, with another member of staff called me, thinking I was the property. rather than the property itself. At the arrival, the lady in charge of the check in gave me the wrong key number, numbers which are almost impossible to read as the ink on the key rings is almost all gone, making me doing 3 times the stairs leading to the 3rd floor, our floor. Sink and shower are almost nonexistent, with the former too small to be used properly, and the latter without any curtain, thus leading to having water all over the bathroom floor. One of the few positive bites are the location, which is great, the price, and the little interiors of the building, with balconies very much representing the city.

The worst experience ever! I will never be back. Pay more and stay in a better place, it’s worth.

Small very basic accommodation. Not very clean. No towels supplied. Noisy. Location is good and central to most things.

I only saw a front desk person once.
