Landhotel Schwarzes Ross

Only two negatives. The church bells going off every two hours all night and the lack of any restaurants in the village. Other than that it was wonderful.

Situated in a quiet attractive rural village, wonderfully peaceful at night.. We had the small room which was adequate for a quick overnight stay. There is a pleasant outdoor seating area where we ate a dinner picnic. Poor internet reception. Good European breakfast with many choices.

Our family of three stayed here and loved it from the moment we pulled up. Our double room was actually two rooms each with double beds and a beautiful, large, modern bathroom. The furnishings were lovely and the rooms spotless. The staff were very friendly and communicated well enough in English. It has a quaint family feel and it is at the edge of a small town. My morning jog was along the country side just around the corner from the hotel. It was a very quick and easy drive to Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber as well.

Friendly owners could not do more to make us feel welcome. The hotel is beautiful, great village location and the rooms spacious and spotlessly clean. Breakfast is also a treat, we loved our stay and would go back anytime!

The host tried to accommodate us with an early breakfast. They were helpful with the internet, but couldn't get wifi.

warm host, country smell, small village, vantage style, if you like them, very good experience. The owner is very warmhearted, and helpful. Plus, some fruits tree in the yard, yes, it's free.

Great stop over before the must see town of Rothenberg . Full of character and charm this small hotel is friendly and run by an elderly couple who make you feel welcome. If you are used to the speed and efficiency of a chain hotel then this probably isn't the best place for you, but if you want to try something a little different then it definitely is. It is very old and so is it's furnishings but this adds to the charm. The bathroom however is new and clean. The only thing it really lacks is air con. We had issues with the wifi which was intermittent during the stay but we did have use of it. If you want character and peace and quiet this is the one for you.read less

This was a quaint hotel and very quiet. The hotel owner and his wife were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in a quiet, small town only about 5km from Rothenberg. This is a great place for the money.

Spacious room, very clean and location just 5 min. drive to Rothenberg. Everything was outstanding except the wifi wasn't very strong. Breakfast was very good with boiled eggs, variety of bread, cheeses, jams, juice, tea or coffee.

Got in by train on a weekend. Hiked to the hotel, where we found a profusely apologetic and very pleasant man, who insisted that we call him next time if we ever need a ride. (He took us the next day down to Rothenburg in the hotel van, refusing payment for doing so.) He and the staff were very nice. The hotel is quaint, but the rooms recently renovated. It's in a small town near Rothenburg, a good location for getting away from the other tourists.
