Family Macedo B&B

Close to city center, possibility to make a late check-in. The owner gave us a lot intesting information about the city.

I had a horrible time here overall. Some positives: it’s a charming house and is well-located. But two big negatives. First, it's very noisy – other guests’ footsteps, bathroom visits, snores, etc, all echo through the whole place. Also the room I was in was not light insulated. Not sure if some of the rooms might be better, which brings me to the second negative. I asked twice to change rooms. The first time my weariness was dismissed (it was suggested it must be my problem because I must live in the countryside – I live in a bigger city than Lisbon…). The second time, which was late-ish in the evening, the manager told me he was leaving for his place ‘in the country’ in the morning but would leave a note for the other staff to move me to another room. I had to go meet a work colleague the next day and couldn’t find any staff in the morning, despite a quite extensive search, so packed my bag hoping they could move it between other guests checking in and out. I reiterated my request in an email as well. Found out when I got back that evening that the manager never bothered to pass on the message and the emails were ignored (or were only accessible to the manager who wasn’t there?). So I was uncomfortable and unhappy staying here because even though the manager comes across as really helpful (I think he likes to give advice) they don’t seem to care if people actually have problems. So ok for heavier sleepers (who don’t mind some mansplaining). Lighter sleepers should avoid.

Quaint property. Family run. Helpful with information about Lisbon.

For me the cozyness is luxury. Stayed here year ago (2017) and forgot to write a review. Host was nice and helpful and drove me to a small sight seeing tour because of my short stay. Rooms were nice and tidy. Recommend <3.

The room was great, shared bathroom did not bothere us. Just the club outside the property was closing everyday at 2 am...Private parking great, locatin great. Be back for sure

We were very satisfied with our stay in this hotel ,especially Denise gave us a lot of information about all we were interested in.Antony was also very pleasant and always busy 😂person.We had little misunderstanding with our food in the fridge because someone took our cheese that we bought in the shop so after that we packed our private food in our bags and wrote notice that it was private.We recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to have nice time in so fantastic city and wish to see a lot because it’s only 15 minutes to go to the center and there’s metro 🚇 station 5minutes from it.We recommend also to buy Lisbon card.

Conveniently located near the metro & tram stop 12 & easy 15 min walk into centre. Owner sent detailed information of how to get to B & B beforehand which was helpful. Great little kitchen you could use anytime & nice courtyard area. Could be a little noisy at night.

Parking free in private garage. Very nice people. Metro and the old tram nearby.

i have been a regular customer for more than a year. i always stay at mr macedo´s place when i visit lisbon. he and his staff are very friendly people. the facilities are clean and the furniture (of which mr macedo is an expert) is fascinating. if you want a cozy, comfortable, and central inexpensive place to stay at, i strongly recommend family macedo. a special bonus is mr macedo and his interest in his guests. he is a walking encyclopedia, a cultural connoisseur, and a very friendly man.

Near metro, close to town center. Use of kitchen anytime. Basics supplied. Old but classy building inside. Great staff.
