"Great introduction to Lisbon"

6.0

Warmly welcomed by Antonio and Sabina, information forthcoming to assist me and as a lone traveller aged 72 I was most appreciative of this. Easy walk to public transport and numerous eateries. I so enjoyed my stay early November that I rescheduled travel to return for an extra night. I'm not an airconditioner fan so happy to trade for general household noise. Great value cheers from New Zealand

"I love the hostel!"

10.0

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The manager is a most helpful man and leave you nothing to guessing. Beside he is a very nice man. The crew are efficient. The hostel is in an mixed emigrant and colorful part of the city. It is close to restaurants and cafes and is walking distance to the center of the city and the water. My room has beautiful antique furniture and the bed was very comfortable

"First Hostel Experience "

8.0

This was my first time staying in a hostel so I didn't know what to expect. I arrived early in the morning because of an early flight and the owner was very accommodating and let me check in early. He was more than happy to tell me all about Lisbon and surrounding areas and really cared about his guests. There are only 4 rooms in the hostel. I had a beautiful room with 2 Juliette balconys, 2 beds and nice restored gothic furniture. The bedding was very comfortable. I had a fan as well as an AC unit. The bathrooms were ok. They were kept very clean, but they could use a clean-up and paint job given I saw a lot of mold. The kitchen and patio were nice, but I never used them. Location was ok but I was a walker so I didn't mind a 15-30 minute walk to the sites. Overall a very positive experience and I would recommend!

"Just what the doctor ordered!"

10.0

I suggest this adult B&B to everyone with a budget in mind. Located in a central area behind a beautiful historic Church, there are metro stations Intendente and Anjos minutes away. Great and affordable restaurants are nearby. The famous Tram28 cart of 1873 era stops very near as well. We had a lovely experience and will return to the charming Dr.Antonio Macedo who went out of his way to accomodate our every need. Muito Obrigado!

"Convenient B&B close to the center of Lisbon."

10.0

I needed to make a very-last minute reservation in Lisbon when my airbnb host did not show up, and came across the Macedo online. I quickly received a response and made my way to the property. Check-in was quick and the staff both then and afterwards were warm and very helpful with information about the property and any questions I had about the neighborhood and transportation within Lisbon. Both my room and all shared spaces (bathrooms, kitchen, and large patio) were exceptionally clean. I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience, and would have extended my stay if they had additional nights.

"An excellent choice."

10.0

Thanks to the host of the B & B for his excellent service and wonderful suggestions. He was very helpful and friendly. Even offered to drive us to a special market of the week. I felt like he was an Uncle I wish I had. The place has so much character and very close to the hot 28 tram and metro stations. I would return here in a heartbeat.

"Okish"

6.0

This is more like a hostel as opposed to a B&B. It wasn't clearly stated that it was a shared bathroom. The breakfast was literally bread in a bread bin. On the second night, the taxi driver told us to be safe as the area where the hotel is located is dangerous. Nevertheless, the place was clean and close to the city centre. For the price of the hotel especially given that it is located in Lisbon city centre, you could expect much more.

"Guest house with shared bathroom in Lisbon"

8.0

Family Macedo Self Catering Guest House is owned and operated by a personable and multi-lingual lawyer, Antonio Macedo. He or his employee Sabina check you in efficiently and provide you with all the info you need about the house and the neighborhood (15-minute walk to downtown or take convenient subway station around the corner a few blocks away. Ask for an interior room as there are some sociable locals who congregate at the store across the street at night and are very loud. The street-front rooms are lovely but you will need to keep the double-paned French windows closed at night causing you to miss the refreshing breeze. (only one night in June I needed to turn on the A/C) The guests I met in the communal dining area were friendly and fun to chat with and most spoke English or tried to if I did not know their language. I especially liked the antique furniture and wood floors of this guest house. Go to Cevejeria Ramiro (famous seafood restaurant) within walking distance and have incredible seafood and beer.

"Nice B&B in the middle of Lisbon!"

10.0

We booked the hotel due to location and price (which is very good). I was the one booking the hotel, but my girlfreind was already in Lisbon, and easily checked in, in my place as my plane arrived very late. When my girlfreind met me in the airport she already had a print of everything worth seeing in Lisbon - and she told me how the host at the hotel had been very entusiastic about telling her everything. The hotel has good rooms, but it is a shared bathroom (we never had any problems). Also there is the most romantic kitchen and free breakfast. You can be in the city centrum in about 15 minutes and there is easy access to the metro. We went to the mountains north of Lisbon after four lovely days at the hotel in a rented car. We did not really plan our trip north, but just wanted to see the country. After checking out, we had a variety of options, as the host used around 10 minutes explaning everything there is to see from Lisbon to Porto. Also he has a good sense of humor. We are from Denmark and he told my girlfreind that we should go and make some little vikings :P
