"Very Noisy and Uncomfortable"

4.0

Pros: Cheap Provides Secured Parking Cons: Very Noisy Hard to find Shared Bathroom Area Less Than Desirable Difficult to Park in Parking Garage Summary: I was by myself and just needed a room to overnight before catching a flight out of Lisbon the following day. Since I was alone I decided to go cheap. Well it seems you get what you pay for, or more accurately you don't get that for which you do not pay. Even with GPS it was hard to locate the actual building. There's no real sign. When you do show up the place is locked then you have to call somebody to let you in. I stood outside for probably five minutes. The staff was polite but seemed very overworked. There was secured parking, fortunate because I imagine you need secured parking in that part of town. It was somewhat difficult to maneuver through their parking garage. The rooms were old, dingy and the bedding was uncomfortable. Amenities were nonexistent. There was a shared bathroom and a shared kitchen area. I believe there was laundry facilities although I did not use them so I cannot accurately comment. The area did not seem very inviting after dark. It is certainly not the type of place that I would want to take my friends. However the most difficult thing was the noise. There was so much noise outside on the street that I basically didn't sleep at all. Overall I personally would not stay here again. The price is attractive, but the downsides far exceed the value. "Good location"

Friendly and helpful service! Very nice and cheap hotel. Free parking and Wi-Fi. We stayed there for one night and it was perfect for us. Good restaurants in walking distance. Just private bathroom missing but that was not problem for us.

"Clear and central hotel but more like good hostel"

8.0

The hotel is good value but is more a hostel than hotel. Rooms are nice with traditional furniture. WIFI wasn't great but was free. Kitchen was nice and had free bread, tea and coffee, plus milk. The staff were very friendly and gave good advice about where to go. The hotel is very near the metro station which is excellent for getting around, it is also near tram route 28 which is a traditional tram. This is nice to get on to see Lisbon but is often crowded and even Lisbon's authorities recommend you watch your purse. Hotel was safe and staff won't be in your room unless you ask, this means you will make your bed but also means that no one else will be in there accept you. Lisbon isn't good for those with walking issues and the hotel has the same problem, no lifts, lots of stairs. Overall and good hotel just don't accept 4 star and you'll be ok.

"Clean, comfortable rooms. Friendly, helpful staff."

8.0

My girlfriend and I spent 4 nights in a double room. Whilst the building does not look particularly special on the outside, it is a very pleasant surprise when you enter. The apartment and the rooms are decorated with antique Portuguese furniture. There is a kitchen you can use, with tea/coffee, bread and jams. Also, there is a pleasant courtyard/garden area to sit in. The owner Antonio is really friendly and helpful, and offers tips on tourist sights, day itineraries as well as bars and restaurants. The rooms have access to a shared bathroom, this is not a problem as it is kept spotlessly clean. Also, the rooms come with a fan. I would strongly recommend this place, it represents great value for money.

"Perfect for a one-night stay"

6.0

We arrived in the early afternoon after driving 3 hours from the Algarves. Our intention was to stay one night because we had a flight out of Lisbon for Rome the following day. We were a bit disappointed when the clerk walked us up the stairs because things seem a bit run down. Then she showed us to the owner's master bedroom explaining that they had overbooked and that they had made up that room for us. It was large and comfy and the washroom was right outside. They even set up a mobile AC for us to stay cool in the Lisbon heat. The following morning, my husband went to the beautiful terrace to have his breakfast and meat the lovely Antonio who kept him entertained for so long I thought we were going to miss our flight. This guesthouse is situated on a quiet street not far from the 28 tram which is always full of tourist but supposedly a nice ride if you can get on one. There is also an indoor garage for your rental. All in all, a really pleasant stay.

"Very friendly host and clean rooms"

10.0

It was a pleasant to stay at the family Macedo B&B. Antonio was very friendly and we could always ask him for advise about things to visit, good restaurants and everything else. When we arrived he also printed some information he made about Lisbon with places to eat, visit and see during the trip. The rooms were very clean and the shared bathrooms and kitchen were cleaned everyday. Location is near the metro station and about a 10 minute walk down the hill to the Rossio square.
