We went to Grand Velas over Spring Break this year and had a wonderful time. My two kids are begging to go back. Big shout-out to our concierge Orlando, who was very attentive even when we were being high-maintenance. Other reviews have commented that this resort can be completely full (which it was during our visit), and yet never feels crowded. This is true! We were able to find chairs by the pool or beach every day, even though we didn't arrive until 9:45 or so. On our last day there, we even got a cabana on the beach. We never waited in a line for anything, ever. Our travel agent took care of getting dining reservations before we arrived, and we were seated for every meal immediately upon arrival. There were families everywhere and we never had to be concerned that we'd get looks from other guests because we had young kids. We stayed in the Zen section and had a room that backed up to a jungle pond with turtles and fish. It was magical. Can't recommend this place enough.

We had such wonderful time at Grand Velas! From the moment we arrived at the Zen area of the resort, you are greeted with warm smiles and a glass of prosecco! I can’t say enough great things about how beautiful the resort is and how well taken care of we were - thanks to Iza, our personal concierge! She was incredible and really eager to help us make the most of our stay. She handled our dinner reservations and offered tips on where to dine. I have to say, the Tacology night, where they made fresh tacos, guacamole, margaritas- was AMAZING!!! We actually were having so much fun and the weather was beautiful that we changed our reservations so we could just eat there. Amazing time at Grand Velas! Thank you also to Abner at Frida for the excellent tequila recommendations (definitely go there for dinner!) and also to Rodolfo for the sweet little gift for my daughter, the champagne for my husband and I and just for making our stay very memorable! Can’t wait to be back!

"A perfect vacation, in a wonderful place, with such kind people." My husband and I first visited Grand Velas Riviera Maya for our honeymoon. It was such a happy memory that we promised each other we would return one day. This time, we finally came back as a family with our two children. To get straight to the point, this place offers a perfect experience for both honeymoons and family trips. We stayed in the Ambassador section again, just like last time. It is the perfect spot to truly feel the sun and breeze of Cancun. Lying on a sunbed with a cocktail while watching my kids play in the pool was one of the greatest joys of the trip. Piaf and Frida were still top-notch, and we made new memories at Lucca, which we visited for the first time. I was particularly moved by the live performance of ‘Take 5’ on the alto saxophone right by our table. While this resort is perfect for making special memories thanks to its stunning pools, beach, architecture, and world-class restaurants, what truly makes it special is the people. Every staff member we met—at the lobby, pool, and restaurants—never lost their smiles and went above and beyond to provide everything we needed. In particular, our concierges, Nicolas and Jeronimo, made our vacation flawless and comfortable. Our children especially loved Jeronimo, likely thanks to the crocodile and stingray pool floats he provided! My husband and I are also deeply grateful to Nicolas, who took great care of us throughout the afternoons and evenings. and even gifted us a new tequila that will always remind us of this specific trip. Beyond the beautiful facility, what made this trip perfect was the kindness of the people here. It made my vacation truly special. Our family will never forget the thoughtful care and warm hospitality we received here. Thank you for another unforgettable stay.

Best 5 star all inclusive hotel

This resort made our family vacation truly special, especially for our kids. This is our second time at the resort, and we have been referring a lot of friends to the resort. They all had very great experience. The surprises throughout our stay were incredible — our kids still talk about all the thoughtful magical moments they received. It was hands down the best vacation we've ever had, and we absolutely love this resort. A huge thank you to the concierges, Jeronimo San Miguel and Nicolas Arin, whose attention to detail and warm hospitality made everything unforgettable. We can't wait to come back!

Our family recently enjoyed a week at Grand Velas Riviera Maya. The resort is an easy 40 minute ride from the airport. We were immediately greeted by our concierge team and shown the property. Alfonso and Braulio were the core of our concierge team. Their passion was beyond professional, it was personal. Their team made us feel like priority guests at all times. I highly recommend making dinner reservations early and attending the nightly shows. The adult area was quiet at all times and the family area was filled with games and fun for most ages. Again, I can not complement the concierge team enough. Their warmth and commitment to guest satisfaction are exactly what five star hospitality should exude.

GRACIAS to the Grand Velas for a wonderful family birthday trip! we had 4 of our kids and 3 of our grandchildren and every moment, meal, and interaction with staff was simply perfect! each and every staff member made every effort to make sure our needs were taken care of; from the room to the pool to the restaurants, this place excels at customer service. Special shoutout to our two Personal Concierges ALFONSO and BAURILO who made sure we had everything we needed and answered every question and let us know what events we could participate in! great job! cheers!

This was the best trip we’ve taken in a while. The amenities, service, food, room size, and all the little details were exceptional. Everything felt thoughtfully done and very high‑end. We especially want to thank our Butler, Raul, for his incredible attention to detail. He took care of every request, always checked in on us, and made sure our room was perfect each time we returned. Because of him, the stay truly felt above and beyond. Absolutely worth every penny. We can’t wait to come back.

Our room was wonderful and spacious. The connecting door was broken and the hotel came to fix it. A few times our service orders were wrong so I would say the biggest downfall was the food. It was not the quality for the price and I had to send it back several times but our concierge team was incredible and went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. We very much appreciate that. I think the property is over priced for what you get and I like the quality at rosewood better but the kids club at grand velas surpasses rosewood on this account. There were some times that the activities plan for the kids club were a little bit too babyish for my seven-year-old and she wanted to go to the team club so I think they need to work on having some activities that cater to both my five-year-old and kids between seven and nine. It was also very challenging getting a chair by the pool as people would get there at 7 AM and claim their chairs because it was super crowded so that was pretty frustrating.
