The Royal Hotel Elgin

The Royal Hotel in Elgin is a great place to stay with nice, clean, big rooms, modern TVs, and parking on site. Across the road, you will find a Big Lidl and Asda, which is very convenient, as well as the Elgin train station. In the evenings, the lively area in the centre of Elgin is a ten-minute stroll away. It is very convenient for people to stay here, especially if you have a car, because the transport links and roads are amazing going out of this hotel. The rooms are clean, fresh, and have a modern flat-screen TV with Netflix and other apps. Heating is good, and many rooms have an ironing board and fridge inside. My bed was fresh, clean, and very comfortable.

2 rooms booked and both bathrooms were recently upgraded.

No staff on arrivel, key cards left out, no-one to ask queries. Rooms in seperate building annex, not advised this would be the case. Staff need customer servcie training. No wine choices for dinner, only 1 type of red, warm draft lager, stark bar area and not open until 5pm. Manager advised going to hotel next door to eat as they had a wine list, she often sends hotel residents there. Much better place warm and inviting with great staff. Breakfast ok but single staff member struggled to cope. Lots of old fridges, chairs etc in the cafe/breakfast room, including some blocking fire escape. No bathroom bin, or hospitality tray in room nor any hotel info. Furniture old, not very clean inside. Windows and handles dirty, view was of hotel wall and heating ducts, noisy. Wouldn't recomend hotel to anyone

Hotel parece manejado por los dueños, da una sensación de cercanía. todo el staff siempre muy atento, educado y agradable. Las habitaciones limpias y sensación de recién renovado

Wi-Fi de mala calidad. Camas muy duras. El servicio en el comedor si bien muy cortés y agradable, la manera en cómo tienen distribuido comedor y cocina hace que la persona que toma la orden y atiende los comensales no da abasto en momentos de hora pico. Las habitaciones no tienen aire acondicionado

Location is good with parking. Room was warm and clean, bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and pleasant.

Breakfast was poor, no fresh fruit one portion of yoghurt left at 8.30 a.m. Many cooked breakfast items were not available. No tongs for handling communal items ie bread. One over stretched staff member serving ,clearing ,making coffee. Hotel is very run down and shabby not as presented in the photographs .Best avoided
