"Disappointing but great staff."

6.0

Food not as advertised, overcooked on the whole and only margarine 90%of the time. Swimming pool not heated, as advertised. Area more remote than other parts of the Island unless you take trips. Their sister hotel in San Augustin was great.

"Good position"

8.0

Very happy with our holiday. Hotel in great spot with walking distance to 2 beaches either side. Shopping mall with shops and lots of bars/restaurants with a pint of beer only 2.50! and only 25 minute walk. Just before there is main bus station to go playa del ingles, maspalomas or puerto mogon around. 2.75 . Hotel has lifts to the promenade but make sure you get back to it before closing i think is 11.30pm or its a walk up a steep hill to get in. Pool has lots of sunbeds and there are 2 to choose from both infinity pools with the one being more for kiddies with play area. All inclusive drinks are not bad although tequila sunrise and long island tea not great so avoid but i loved the daikaris. Entertainment was ok. Better than some hotels ive been in and something on every night but you can walk to harbour in 10 mins with a couple of places to eat or drink. Majority of staff are lovely and friendly. We also liked the food. Always plenty of choices at each mealtime and breakfast. Rooms are very spacious also with big bathroom and walk in shower. Big veranda with bistro tables and even 2 sun longers overlooking pool which it looks like all the rooms have. I would certainly recommend this place

"As good as our first visit."

10.0

I wrote a review on this hotel 12 months ago. Everything was perfect. I am pleased to say, that nothing has changed. Staff in all departments are excellent, variety of options in the restaurant, rooms are quite large and well maintained. Only downside in the room is lack of storage space bedside and in the bathroom, otherwise no complaints. Hopefully we will be returning next year.

"Excellent location,Excellent hotel for all ages."

10.0

We were upgraded to a room with shared pool which was excellent. Also got free bottle of Cava. Buffets great choice at all times - everyone catered for, staff very efficient at clearing tables and keeping restaurant clean and tidy

Would have preferred kettle in room rather than coffee pod machine. More practical for making Tea.

"Beautiful Hotel, Incredible Views... but apparently bottled water is rationed."

6.0

Upon arriving, the hotel looked wonderful. The infinity pool and the view out over the Atlantic from the cliff are genuinely spectacular. Our room in the refurbished block also looked great at first glance. However, upon closer inspection, things were a little less premium than expected. There were thick layers of dust on the bedside tables, more dust (and some old food) lurking under the bed, and stained pillows that didn’t exactly scream “freshly prepared for our arrival.” The shower also looked magnificent, but unfortunately had an issue - the thermostat caused the water to fluctuate from hot to cold with very little warning. To the hotel’s credit, we reported this to reception and they did send someone up to look at it quickly. It wasn’t fully fixed, but it did become slightly less severe. Truthfully, none of these things are massive issues. The biggest downside to our stay actually relates to something far simpler: drinking water. We originally weren’t all-inclusive, but after being encouraged to upgrade at check-in, we slept on it and returned to reception the next day to do so. In hindsight, we feel we were somewhat misled. We were under the impression that with our shiny new blue all-inclusive wristbands we’d be able to take bottled water to the room freely. This was a firm no from hotel staff. Apparently, all rooms - regardless of whether you’re all-inclusive or not - are limited to two standard bottles of water per day. Yes, two. Bar staff would routinely ask where you intended to drink the bottled water - in the bar or in your room. If you answered “in the room”, you’d be told you couldn’t take it. Naturally, this led to guests (ourselves included) answering “the bar”, then quietly walking away toward the lifts like we were smuggling contraband across a border checkpoint. Some staff would watch you with the intensity of prison guards making sure nobody was attempting a daring bottled water escape. One bottle per person per day/night is frankly ridiculous. I don’t know about others, but I drink quite a lot of water. I like to keep some by the bed in case I wake up thirsty in the night, and then have some again when I wake up. It seems odd that you have to trek down to the bar (which also isn’t open 24/7) if you fancy a drink of water in the middle of the night. Normally I’d just shrug this off and go to a nearby shop to buy a multipack so I can hydrate freely without feeling like I’m participating in some sort of covert operation. However, as mentioned earlier, the hotel is perched on a cliff. Local shops aren’t particularly close, and reception advised that walking isn’t ideal due to the steep hills and road conditions. Their recommendation was to take a taxi into town and back. That’s €7 each way — €14 round trip — to go and buy drinking water. Now, that might not sound terrible in isolation, but when you’ve already spent over €2000 on the hotel stay and another €300+ upgrading to four days of all-inclusive (which we believed would include the luxury of more than two modest bottles of water in the room), the whole situation starts to feel a bit absurd. On our first day I also managed to burn quite badly in the sun and had to almost plead with reception for a little extra water to take to the room. To their credit they did allow it on that occasion - but when you step back and think about it, guests really shouldn’t have to negotiate for basic drinking water. It’s a beautiful hotel in a stunning location, but the experience has been seriously undermined by what can only be described as a strangely militant approach to bottled water. Judging by conversations we’ve had with several other guests during our stay, we’re far from the only ones left scratching our heads over it.

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel last week. Spacious rooms with beautiful views, lovely little spa area below the main swimming pool, decent gym, and a great kids entertainment team - shout out to Patryck, Isabel & Tindjra (sp.?), who made our toddler’s stay particularly fun & memorable!
