An older style hotel in the city center. My room was fine but rather dated especially the bathroom. Was only there for one night. Room was fine. Had a kettle, drinking water. And everything worked fine. The Wi-Fi was slow. The restaurant was not open so we ate in the cafe section which had a limited and mostly western menu and was not my choice. I did have fried rice with pork and a fried egg and it was fine. I figured that was a good choice.

We're delighted to come back and this was our seventh stay @ Empress Hotel. As usual, the complimentary gift bag of snacks, juice and evian mineral water was always a nice touch when we checked in. The rooms were well kept, clean and cosy. The staff were attentive, helpful and hardworking. It's like coming back home. The front desk manager, Miss Ayo, was very considerate to us, especially to my disabled mom. The moment I checked out, I've started to plan my next stay @Empress this November. Highly recommended!

Stayed for a conference. I was impressed with the conference centre, including all the break out rooms. Terrifically helpful staff. The rooms in the hotel were good, with all the needed facilities. It was a little dated though, and the bathroom definitely needed a renovation. Good location - 15 mins walk to markets. Gym was poor - most machines out of order - but it was great to have a quick dip in the pool.
