The Empress Hotel Chiang Mai

Good service good breakfast

Pretty nice hotel, occasionally there’s a sewer smell. Shower temperature fluctuates sometimes to extremely hot or cold. The staff was pretty nice and helpful.

We were welcomed by receptionist called Lang. He was the most helpful and welcoming person in our 6 weeks in Thailand! We immediately felt we had a person we could ask for any concern. He would be amazing in a management position as he understands customer service!! Pool area - the umbrellas could be replaced as did not work properly and only shade in the area! Drinks at pool were reasonably priced. Pool water was a little too much on the cool side - could be a few degrees warmer. The lobby had an odd smell (musty) but the room itself was fine and very quiet with great bed. Breakfast area was crazy Tues-Sat as it serves those attending the conference center next door. Little things could really improve the breakfast (juice was warm as not served in machine or on ice, no coffee machine so coffee in pots get burned taste quite soon, most food was luke-warm not hot). Put Lang in charge and he would likely fix so many of those things ;) Definitely would consider staying again but would have breakfast elsewhere unless changes made.

Absolutely outstanding! This was 5 Star Hotel, not only for its plush rooms, but its staff, amenities, and location. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Pizza at the bar was good. Getting to the mall easy and economical (we took a 'Grab)'. Young people can walk it. Well worth the visit.

I attended a conference here in August together with about 600 other participants. The hotel was elegant, friendly and had an attentive staff who knew how to handle their guests. I had a spacious room on 15th floor, with a nice view. The breakfast was sumptous and for a European like me, I found what I needed. However, the breakfast department was quite crowded several mornings. The lobby was exceptional and elegant. The location was good, with easy access to the airport. This was my first visit at the hotel as a guest. However, I attended a dinner/banquet there a few years ago, when I stayed at another hotel in Chiang Msi. I can recommend this hotel to guest who plan a visit to Chiang Mai, expecting to be take good care of by the staff and enjoy good food. Henry Grindheim Asker, Norway

The location was walking distant to the Night Blazard with many other restaurants options. Transportation and taxi was easy accessible.

Breakfast service was good but I expected more fresh fruits ;)

We booked 5 nights but when we arrived, we realized the hotel was not located in a good area for walking around and shopping. We left after the first night. This was back in May and I STILL have not received my refund for the 4 nights despite bringing this to the hotels attention multiple times and getting no response.

We stayed at the Empress for a Work convention of my husbands for nine days. The hotel is located well not far from the airport 20 minutes close to the night market 10 minutes and could shops within walking distance the level of service at the hotel from the staff is always very helpful, however, I found that the facilities on offer or below average. There was no shop for gifts or souvenirs, the actual service at the café restaurant I found to be poor. I often went for a coffee or an iced coffee and there was no one there to serve me so I’d walk away. swimming pool was attended and it was very nice to swim in the hotel generally I thought was a bit dated. The breakfast on offer for a Wesner was quite poor for selection. The room itself was perfectly adequate even though we were put in a twin room. There were good toilet trees available in the bathroom in the room was well serviced, every morning . All the staff were lovely and friendly overall we were underwhelmed..
