The Old Phuket - Karon Beach Resort

Located conveniently near restaurants and minimarts. Walking distance to the beach with many shops along the road facing the beach. Staff are all polite and helpful! Nice breakfast and pool. Overall a very quiet and relax place to stay in.

We were very impressed with our stay here. We arrived at lunch time thinking we would have to wait until 2pm to check into our room but No! We went straight to our room which was great after traveling all night. The location is perfect. Outside the Hotel entrance is a street of restaurants with delicious food. We ate at nearly all of them. Also in between the restaurants is Thai massage parlours, we went to 3 of them, all good. Across the road was the beach with all the extra water activities you can do plus the friendly rent an umbrella man! The breakfast and dinning area was very lovely and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing we found annoying was early in the morning you could hear the security man talking on his radio as he went down the hallway.

The facilities are very pleasant and well maintained. Nice gardens, everything very clean. The rooms in the Sino wing have wonderful character and we also had a nice small terrace for sitting outside. The staff is fantastic, so friendly and welcoming, always ready with a big, warm smile. We enjoyed the breakfast, which presented lots of choice and some changes from day to day. We were also delighted to find that this hotel is so close to the beach and many food adventures.

We booked a 4 night stay in Private Jacuzzi room in the Sino Wing to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. After reading many reviews I began to think we should have requested a change to a Pool Access room in the more modern serene wing because there had been negative comments about renovations in the Sino Wing however when we arrived they had been completed and the accommodation was perfect. We did have an issue with the tap handle in the bathtub coming out in my hand when running a bath on our first day (water was pouring out the tap and we couldn't turn it off), however one phone call to reception and they had a maintenance man there in minutes who had the tap replaced within a few minutes so no complaint there. The only issue was the fact that by the 3rd night the mattress on the bed was feeling a little too firm, but then that seems to be a common issue with accommodation across Asia. Breakfast was very good, a nice variety of food, helpful and friendly wait staff and the best omelette/egg station I have found yet on my travels through Asia. The restaurants and massage places on the little street going to the beach are all quite good (we can highly recommend the Butterfly Bistro for good food & great service), and the lovely Karon Beach is only a short walk down that street and across the road. Overall it was a wonderfully enjoyable way to relax and be pampered a little for our anniversary and we will definitely stay again when we return to Phuket.

A beautiful hotel that was quiet and peaceful. We have always stayed in Patong,so this was a welcome change from all the noise and hassle usually associated with Patong. We stayed in a deluxe pool view room in the Serene wing. Everything about this hotel is beautiful from rooms to the food. The staff at this hotel are so polite and helpful I cannot speak highly enough about them. They are to be commended. The only minor complaint I have are the beds and pillows. I sleep on a firm bed at home and have slept on many a hard bed in Patong but these beds go way beyond firm. They are rock hard to the point that it hurts to sleep on your side. Hotel owners or whoever really need to invest in new pillows. I found it really hard to get comfortable as you have two pillows each, both of which are old, flat and lumpy. Apart from that, I could not fault this hotel and would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Weather was terrible for our whole stay, but the super friendly staff made up for it. Everyone at the hotel was cery nice and helpful

This was our third stay at The Old Phuket and won't be our last. Book a pool access room for a truly relaxing holiday. The hotel is nice and quiet but only a 10 minute walk to Karon"s main st. restaurants and bars. Karon is not as hectic as Patong which is only 10 minutes away by tuk tuk. The beautiful Karon beach is only a 2 minute walk from the front gate along a little strip of restaurants and massage places. A 1 hour oil massage is only 400 baht ( A$15) so we had one every second day. Breakfast is good and there's plenty of it. Highly recommend The Old Phuket.

this is the sixth time that we have stayed here as it is a very quiet piece of countryside in the middle of a big city. The area is set amongst open fields and is so peaceful yet meters away from the sea. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are bright, airy and clean . The pool area is wonderful and the little poolside eating area is reasonably priced. Another happy stay for us who are looking for a" chilled out "vacation in a warm climate. We will return next year
