The Old Phuket - Karon Beach Resort

This is a fairly basic resort. If you can get it at a very good price then it is worth it otherwise I would not really recommend it. I personally would say that it is worth about £40 GBP max per night with breakfast. Breakfast was OK but nothing special. Staff were OK but not overly friendly. Overall a basic resort with a lot of Russian visitors to this resort and this locality generally.

Stayed in pool view & pool side rooms. Pool side room was pretty cool as you can access the pool which is just outside the balcony. Hotel ambiance was pretty relaxing and retro. There is a gym and library, but not air conditioned. On the down side: - nothing really to shout about with regards to free breakfast - flooring in the room can be pretty slippery - no toothbrush and toothpaste is provided - one particular front desk staff is quite impatient when i was inquiring about some extra charges incurred

Only stayed two days to relax as the final leg of a two week holiday was woken up at 6am by power cautioning in and out and lift alarms going of.. This happened again the following day but at a reasonable hour thank god. The toilet was blocked the first day but fixed quickly. Pool bar food was great but hard to get a spot by the pool. Breaky was pretty good but they pack up a bit early. Rooms are huge and bathrooms are amazing but beds are rather firm.

The service was superb, couldn't be better. the staff are super nice. The breakfast buffet was great and generous. very close to the beach nice swimming pool. Great value for money. highly recommend

Loved this hotel! Most staff was friendly and attentive, breakfast was amazing and restaurant options were very good, although it would be nice if purchases at the restaurants outside the gate could be charged to the room. Housekeeping did a great job. NYE gala was spectacular and prices were extremely reasonable. The only complaint is that there needs to be serious maintenance done to the pool deck. A plank broke as I was walking, and I was injured on our last afternoon there. Still having issues nearly a week later. Management did very little to assist me, and would not get any medical personnel on the premesis to see me. They were aware and offered no help, no services, no anything. Not a great end to an otherwise wonderful stay.

We loved our stay here! This was the first of 3 places we stayed on our honeymoon & we had the jacuzzi suite. It was the perfect blend of authentic Thai feel, yet nice enough amenities and service for a great trip. Both pools are nice and you can order food and drinks. The room was SO CLEAN. They helped is book 2 tours and a ride to our next hotel easily. There are restaurants, shops, massages and the beach right outside the hotel. We would stay here again.

WiFi is pretty much useless I had to use my cell phone data. Karon beach is away from hustle and bustle if nice and quiet is your thing. However restaurants and shops are in walking distance. Nice swimming pool. Had some bed bugs problem. Good sized bathroom. Should place a couple of extra power outlets near the bed.

Great location. Neat and clean. Staff can be more helpful if they can speak better English. Aircon in room was a problem but they met my request for a fan. Great place.

This really is a superb hotel to use as your base for a stay at Karon Beach . Spoil yourself and opt for a room with direct pool access in the Serene Wing,
