Gable End Hotel

Great location.

One Very Smelly staff member, cobwebs everywhere in room. Very outdated. Bar is always closed. Rusty shower. Run out of TEA Bags. After just two days of being there. The owner drunk at 11 am in the morning ( swearing and loud and very sexist). Would not return.

Smelly reception - stale beer smells. Not a good check-in experience. Check-in person couldn't speak without slurring words and smells.The chair is dirty in the room. Bathroom floor tiles broken/missing. Shower door doesn't close to stay shut. Called to complain. Owner said he would sort out the guest. Didn't do this. Don't stay.

Location is very ideal

Old fashioned but nicely executed

5 minutes from beach, nice bright room , well equipped place to stop nothing was too much bother , separate room for kids to sleep , lovely soft bed

Could do with some tlc here and there but overall a great place to stop

There was a gym like an extractor fan noise in my room on the wall.

Very hard to criticise because you get what you pay for. The negatives have been spoken about a lot on various online sites so I won’t go into much detail but it’s a very dated hotel and the shower room could definitely be refreshed. But the positives are the guys I came across were really friendly and helpful. The young lad just starting his last year at school was really chatty and clearly a grafter. Hotel breakfasts these days are generally very expensive and kept under a heat lamp forever. My breakfast cost 9 quid and was cooked fresh to the order I completed on arrival. You can’t knock that.

Olde worlde hotel with free car parking. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Opposite are the Venetian Waterways where you will see ducks, mallards and Canada geese.
