Holiday Inn Detroit Lakes - Lakefront by IHG

We had a balcony overlooking the lake. That was the best thing! We were able to enjoy the music without leaving our room!

We had a simple king room on the main level with a view of the lake. The room itself was smaller than other kings rooms we had stayed in. It had a musty, damp smell to it, like it hadn’t been used in a while. The room was close to the hotel’s bar, so we got to hear the local band (the first night) and Karaoke the next, late into the night. Also, the other folks partying, dancing and having a good time stayed up later into the night and made everyone else was aware of their presence in the hotel’s hallways and beach. The restaurant (ice house) was average at best for food quality and the wait for the food was beyond ludicrous. One of the days we waited almost an hour for two simple breakfast platters and it was not that busy. Overall, we were not too impressed and won’t be back to this place. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

A lovely property on a beach and lake. What fun for young families

Older run down hotel. The restaurant here is Not good. In fact, we will be skipping the free breakfast vouchers that we received at check in in favor of purchasing a better breakfast anywhere but here. Also, our room smelled damp and like it had not been aired out in a while. We would not recommend anyone to stay here

The only issue I ran into is I reserved a room with two beds but got a king size instead. It was uncomfortable sleeping situation since it was the 3 of us but we made it work. Bed was comfortable
