Clifton Hotel

This was a solo trip with my dog. The hotel is in a good location, close to the beach and other amenities. Parking costs £8 per night which is good value given the location, you can reserve a space by emailing the hotel. The room was clean, good view of the sea and had good facilities. The floor does creak, some of the boards where missing but the hotel is old, so this is to be expected. I did not eat at the hotel, so couldn’t comment on the food.

Tracy on reception is very rude and abrupt. Demanded my key an hour before check out due to fire safety. This was never explained to me, according to Tracy you need to hand your key into reception every time you leave the hotel. She spoke to me like I was an incompetent child, was very rude and demanding. Asking me where I was going, who I was staying with, how long I was going to be. She told me to "crack on" and "do what I want" and she "didn't care". Her behaviour continued during my checkout, where she "didn't care if I complained". I have complained and will take this further. She was very rude and shouldn't be working with people

Really comfy bed, very clean room, had everything I needed. Nice shower with hot water. Prompt response when I contacted the hotel regarding a car parking space

The shower room was a little too compact. The taps in the shower could have more clearly been marked as hot and cold.

Spacious, clean room with fantastic view. Great value for money and majority of staff were very friendly

Finding out when we arrived that we had to pay extra to use car park. Receptionist when we arrived was rude and unhelpful, didn't believe me when I said we had already paid and wanted to charge me again

Charming with excellent service.
