Sandy Beach Resort

This is the first time I’ve felt it necessary to write a review, purely in the hope it enlightens others before spending lots of money on what turns into a very disappointing experience. I write this whilst sitting in the resort, by the pool closest to the beach. Initially the hotel appears lovely. The grounds are large and well kept. Areas are clean and the beach location is lovely. However, there are many points that sadly make this a regrettable booking. The main point is - this hotel accommodates heavily for the French. There is no attempt to translate to any other language. When a member of the animation team was questioned about this, I was told we were at ‘The French Pool’. This is not advertised anywhere! All games, entertainment and general communication is in French. In Corfu this is not expected. I find this totally disrespectful to guests that aren’t French. If we wanted French we would have gone to France. Apparently the ‘International pool’ is the one by the slides. This area is smaller, more cramped, has basic beds, is less picturesque, is furthest from the beach and generally does not have a relaxed or luxurious feel to it. In the pool with young children playing there is often large groups of French teenagers playing physical ball games with no regard for other tourists. I’ve witnessed people and children being hit in the face with the large leather ball and knocked off pool inflatables. Yet this behaviour almost seems encouraged by some of the French animation team. Extremely sad and disappointing. Secondly, in order to get a drink you have a token, great as no empty cups around however, in order to get a drink the queues are long with some bars only having one bartender. The drinks included in all inclusive are limited and not that of other resorts we have visited. The ice cream isn’t included in the all inclusive. There is an ice cream bar however this is extra. The music by the pool is so loud you cannot have a normal conversation and again this is French music playing. The evening entertainment is certainly nothing to get excited about. On the few occasions we’ve been to see it, it’s the animation team doing similar dancing to different music. Again not what you’d expect for a resort of this size. And again this was in French with no attempt to translate to any other language. It’s such a shame as the hotel has the space and facilities to provide so much more. The snack bar - there is only one and it is at one end of the resort. Therefore if you are seated by the pools close to the beach you have a good 7 minute walk each way to get either a pizza, hotdog or pasta. The restaurants- the fact this hotel had three a la cartes was a positive for us however, you can only pick two to visit. These get booked up quickly so it’s unlikely you get to book when you’d like to. The menu is basic and you have to pick prior to attending. There are flies and wasps throughout the main restaurant. It is very difficult to sit outside and eat because of the wasps. Wasps appear to be a problem elsewhere as we experienced this at the waterpark too. The hotel could look to address the flies in the restaurant though. On a whole, this has been a regrettable experience. We spent over £7000 and if we’d known these points we certainly wouldn’t have chosen this resort. I only hope that by reading this I can save some people money and avoid the poor experience we have encountered. I’m just astonished everything is French yet we are in Greece! Nowhere is this apparent. Perhaps the hotel should make this clear to customers. I think it’s fair to say, I would not recommend this hotel. Please do not waste your money.

This was already my third stay at this hotel, and once again it was absolutely amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, always making me feel welcome from the very first moment. i just love it here

Food options were good, the pools were nice as was the beach.

From a child's view : It was a really nice place and I enjoyed staying there. I liked the different variety of foods at the main restaurant and the types of food at the other restaurants. I liked all the wild life and nature. I also liked the pools and the shows. I also liked the beach. There are lots of other places to go outside the hotel like Mavroudis Olive Oil Factory and the Aqua Land Water Park. It was a really nice holiday.

A beautiful hotel with many facilities.The beach is one of the cleanest and most beautiful we have ever seen.Everyone from the staff is wonderful and welcoming.Special thanks to Victoria and Eleni who we met by the pool ,and the guest relations team in general they are always assisting us in any way possible

Certainly not 4-star luxury experience. Many things could have been overlooked, such as the old plastic cups for the bar, the disgusting drinks that are included with the all inclusive bar, the extremely loud music that is played on a loop right outside of your room at the pool, the people from the spa constantly walking around trying to upsell you while you're lying on your loungers attempting to relax.. but what can't be overlooked is the food, the cleanliness, the bugs and the room quality. I traveled with a baby and after a 2 day flight he was ready to move about, but to my horror after I let him crawl on the floor he was covered in BLACK. The laundry service could not get the stain out (for which I paid) and I couldn't let him move freely the entire 5 days we stayed. Our air conditioner was broken and we inquired to room service about it but was told to just leave the card in the slot so we assumed okay, this is just how it is. I was waking up throughout the night to take cold showers and my baby was sweating profusely, by the 4th night we had to demand something so they changed our room and low and behold, our AC WAS broken & the new room's toilet was broken. The taste of the food leaves much to be desired and worse, the food made my stomach distend so much that a bartender even refused me a drink due to being "pregnant". I felt disgusting on vacation and ended up having to buy food at the nearby restaurants, completely defeating the purpose of the all inclusive.

We are now st gyros restaurant and its absolutely amazing. Our table is with pool view, the food is amazing as well as the service. A big shout out goes to Nadia who is very friendly and professional.

We have just returned from our holiday in this hotel. The sandy beach was the reason to book this hotel and we were not disappointed. Sea water is clear and the beach is clean. It is perfect for kids. We were located in the building next to beach which was great until we realised that our room is also near the amphitheatre where the night entertainment is performed. We were with a 3 year old child, so this room is not the best option for couples with children as it could be really noisy. However, the room was cleaned daily. Hotel grounds were beautiful and well maintained. During our stay we visited the greek Gyros restaurant as well as the Italian restaurant near the reception area. Both were great, the food was delicious. In the mornings and for lunch we were using the restaurant near the beach because it was quieter. For dinner we were visiting the main restaurant which was offering plenty of choices. One thing we were annoyed with was the access to drinking water. This is the first all inclusive hotel we are visiting were drinking water was not easily accessable and we had to buy water from the shops. You only get one bottle on arrival in your room. Other than that you have to queue in the bars. In the restaurants you are not allowed to refill your own bottles. We are aware of their plastic free policy but they can provide water in glass bottles or provide water dispensers near the beach. The playground was also locked in the evenings. It was open during the day when the animators were there. For info the tax for one week you have to pay is around 100 pounds.

We were here for 8 days in total - me, my wife and my 3 years old son. We are very satisfied with the resort. Very nice people work here, rooms are clean with daily service, beautiful sandy beach - perfect for kids, a lot of fish in the sea to so good for snorkeling, a lot of animation programs for kids and adults. Really good resort. The swim up bar was amazing. Lots of activities for children. Also the adult area was great for some chill time. Nadia was helpful around the resort also :)
