Aree Tara Resort

We drove to the hotel from the airport and from the map given by Budget, we found the hotel. (The GPS we brought has AreeTara, but led us to the next lane). We managed to park our car in front of the hotel 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed there. Limited parking space. The hotel is quite pleasant with a small but decent pool. We had no problem checking in but had to lug our luggages to the 2nd floor without a lift. We requested for another single bed which they charged 500B with breakfast. My whole family complained about the lack of free wifi in the room and its really a hassel to go down to the lobby to use the free wifi. For 30mins, they charge 50B and they have a rate for up to 3 hours. I paid more for the deluxe room and thought AreeTara should just throw in the free wifi. There are really alot of hotel options around and we thought that Centara, which is nearby is another good option for the family. Its really convenient & cheap to have a car to drive around which we got for 499B from Budget online. Parking in Krabi is free everywhere and you can just park in front of the shops without problems.

Nice hotel with everything you need, staff were helpful and it's only a 10 minute walk to both the main beaches in Ao Nang. Breakfast had a good range with lots of Halal food (only place we noticed this in Thailand) although it would have been better if I could get bacon with my eggs. No big deal though. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Good value for money. Pool could get better sun coverage but I suppose they have to make do with the space they have.

Enjoyed the stay, hotel staff were good, Room was good and Krabi was excellent. Will happily return.

Do not go there. We stayed 2 long nights. It's impossible to sleep there. Doors are made of paper and housekeepers shouts from 8am until noon non stop. At 7am sharp someone started to move furniture and the noise was killing me. Also the pillows were way too big to sleep, i had to sleep with my own inflatable pillow i took to flight. Staff member in the front desk spoke some language i did'nt regonize, we could not understand each other. She was pretty rude, that was the only thing i understood. We did not try to communicate them since we arrived. There is no free wifi in the room. Very slow wifi in the lobby. Do yourself a favor and go to some other place. You won't get value for your money there.

We stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to the beach. It turns out that it was an excellent choice. Just on the outskirts of Ao Nang it was close to the beach but also good for the nightlife. Yes there is some noise from the buildings going up opposite but its not too bad. The pool is not so great as its mostly in the shade, but it was clean and well presented. We would stay here again.

Tired despite all the fun walking around and cruising to islands And best of all, sunset barbecue at one of the island is the best experience so far.

Good experience. It was hidden in quiet area and not too far from the beach.
