Fantasy Island Beach Resort and Marina - All Inclusive

The only things I enjoyed were the beach and the entertainment.

The property was filthy, with garbage everywhere and a noticeable presence of bees and flies. It felt like there were issues with staff service, including delays at the buffet, difficulty getting drinks and limited English communication. The rooms and facilities were dilapidated with visible damage, bats in the ceiling, and poorly maintained pools. WiFi is only available in the lobby which made staying connected difficult. Overall, the property did not match the polished image advertised online. I would not stay here again.

We came here for an excursion on our cruise. We paid good money for a terrible experience. The “resort” is tired and old. It needs paint, upkeep on the grounds, fixing of the stairs (paint and treads are almost non existent). We got a “snack” at 9:30. Probably the worst food I’ve had in recent memory. Disgusting pizza, 2 different colored “hamburgers” and other items that were inedible. The “lunch” buffet wasn’t any better. There wasn’t much of anything besides a salad or fresh fruit that was edible. Service for drinks was bad. I can’t imagine actually choosing this place to stay at thinking it is a “resort”. It was a waste of our money and we couldn’t wait to board the bus back to our cruise ship. I would NOT recommend staying here!!!!

The service was not very good, and the food wasn’t either I even got sick to my stomach. The room was not like you show on Instagram. The beach is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but the service was terrible. I would not recommend this place

This is not high top resort or luxury but the beach is private and big ,with all water fun option in the place ,this is lower cost ,comparing other locations Food is okay not the best but you will not hungrier ,alcohol drink are not local they are from Guatemala , maintenance in this location need go better , AC was not good I have 3 room amd only one have good AC, not Internet ,Not TV if you like to see a movie same ,one room TV was good other 2 was bad Remoto Control, I staying my 3rd time there but only because the Beach and the things around Location .good luck if any advise you as travelers need ask !

This is a resort with mainly locals. Not many tourist. Close to snorkeling that was absolute breath taking.

We recently returned to this resort after more than six years and found that many things have regressed. The beach remains the highlight, but the rest of the stay left a lot to be desired. The beach is beautiful, clean, and easily the best part of the experience, and the entertainment team does a decent job of keeping guests engaged. However, first impressions matter, and the lobby and common areas feel dated and in need of a major refresh. Rooms show their age and could use a modern upgrade to improve comfort. Customer service varies, and some staff come across as unfriendly or unhelpful; in particular, a staff member named Clara, who was picking up cups from the beach, gave us a nasty look when we politely asked her not to take a can of beer, which dampened the overall experience. Food quality and variety are disappointing, with the menu feeling repetitive and the same options repeated daily. Snacks are underwhelming, and meal scheduling is inconsistent, often leaving long gaps between offerings. Dinner ends at 9:30 PM and the bar closes at 10 PM, creating a sense of a curfew and limiting evening activities. Dining and drinking options feel limited, with only one bar in the lobby area, which can feel chaotic for a resort of this size. Overall, management and budgeting seem tight, affecting maintenance and guest experience. The resort has potential but isn’t meeting it right now. Bottom line: The beach is the clear selling point, but without substantial upgrades, better service, and improved dining and scheduling, the overall experience falls short. If your focus is the beach and you’re okay with a budget-conscious stay, it might still be worth a visit; otherwise, consider exploring other options in the area.

Horrible experience

My children liked the buffets and unlimited drinks. I liked the price. But it is designed for huge crowds, and that makes it very hard to keep clean in the shared areas. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms, and transportation to other sites was expensive. The staff were nice and helpful. There is a bit of wear and tear. For example, the billiards tables are in bad shape, as are the cue sticks. But overall, it was a good deal, given that meals were included. We are undecided as to whether or not we will go back.
