Candlewood Suites Anaheim - Resort Area by IHG

The property and room were very clean it exceeded my expectations. The price was very good considering the close proximity and the cleanliness which is what was important for my family and I. Staff was friendly and I would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable stay

I was told this is a 4 star hotel, I don’t believe this. I stayed here for 8 nights. This is a list of some of the problems: 1) they have 1 elevator for the entire hotel causing all the housekeeping staff and guests for a 6 story hotel, the other one in the middle of the floor is broken. The front desk said they were in the process of getting it fixed, but the housekeeping staff said it’s been broken for over a month 2) problems with the room (I had a one bedroom suite with kitchenette) - the air conditioning worked poorly at best, was hot the entire time- there was a thermostat on the wall without a battery then was told to use the old fashioned one by the window -I was leaving so I put the dishes we used in the dishwasher and then realized the d/w didn’t even work!! So my comment to them was how clean were the dishes that I used? 3) I’m disabled with muscular dystrophy so I look at things from my aspect, I had to use my power w/c around the hotel because the elevator was so far from my room and I went out to the pool (which is less the 25 ft long and maybe 10 ft wide at the most, I could almost touch the sides while standing in the middle of it) when I went to leave I couldn’t get the door to the inside opened. I tried for over 10 min, then called the front desk, said they’d send somebody right up, after 10 more minutes nobody showed up (I had to stand in the 94 degree heat with no cover.). Finally I decided I would have to get in myself so after trying about 4 more times I was able to open the door, nobody ever came I reported all of these instances including the bus that was supposed to take us the more then 2 mile walk to Disney never came in over 1 hr, we had to walk there and back even though I paid $12 for us to ride there and back They never offered any ability or attempt to fix any of these problems, there was even a light burned out over the stovetop which I gave to them, still couldn’t even give me a lightbulb to change it myself, also it was very noisy, the people above me sounded like an aerobics class, stomping etc. and as I walked the hall I could hear every body’s conversation while they were in there rooms behind their closed door I do not recommend this hotel

Stayed here for a trip to Disney with some friends who had previously stayed here. The room was fine, clean and tidy, towels were changed every day despite a sign in the bathroom saying housekeeping was once a week and all staff were friendly. Unfortunately the place itself is just so noisy! The fridge hums on and off and when speaking to our friends they had the same issue so it seemed pointless complaining/changing rooms. You can also hear when other people are using their shower and general walking above you. There is only 1 lift in the whole place which I found quite scary, it takes ages to get anywhere and really should be looked into in my opinion. Our friends told us it was a 15 minute walk to Disney but it seemed double and there are plenty of accommodation choices closer to the park. I wouldn't choose to stay here again as it is just not for me.

Great place when you're going to Disneyland in Anaheim. There's a mini convenience store in the lobby so if you need some essentials/food/drinks, you don't need to go out. I like the free coffee machine as well as their free laundry machines (but you need to provide your own detergent/softener). Will definitely come back in the future!

Bed was comfortable and having the full-size refrigerator and mini kitchen was a nice option. Location was good and within walking distance to the nearby Theme Parks and restaurants.

Seating options in the room for eating, working, etc. were limited. Hallway door had a gap so light and noise from the hallway came into the room.

This place was convenient and family friendly. We didn’t realize that there was a stove and a fridge where we can comfortably fit the kids things in.there was also a microwave. These was honestly such a plus. Walking distance to shops and food places. I believe there’s a gas station if you would like to walk over to get some quick Snacks. We walked to CPK it was about a 7 minute walk. This was perfect we walked shopped around walked off the food. When we got back to the room we did notice our AC unit was not working and they immediately offered to move us. They didn’t hassle us and all the staff was extra friendly! We also got to enjoy the pool it’s a smaller area but it is comfortable and clean. We are planning another Disney trip and plan on sticking with candlewood suites.
