Mercure Thame Lambert Hotel

The hotel is situated on a very busy main road, unfortunately our room was on the side by the road which was extremely noisy all night. The hotel was in need of a refurbishment especially the room. Even though we moved rooms the bathroom was clean but cracked furniture, mould around the bath and broken toilet seat etc etc

Great location near motorway with easy access to/from hotel in both directions. Friendly staff happy to help. Rooms clean (we stayed main building) but has an uneven floor. We did find our mattress too hard and mentioned this at reception on checking out. Would I stay again….YES

Friendly staff, quiet and large room with great view. Nice Restaurant with good food.

Blocked drains. Reported 4 times. Couldn't get food orders right. Request for Iron and board took 36 hours to arrive.

The location was good for easy access to and from the motor way. Bathroom was tired but functional.

Great food. Comfy bed and really good showers.

The hotel was very nice, loads of parking and outdoor space. Dinner was very nice and The food in the restaurant was very good and generous portions, Bar is very nicely stocked however I was a little disappointed and thought it strange that lemonade was not available and therefore was not able to have some of the cocktails I enjoy. The lounge area is lovely and so are the staff who were friendly, helpful and wore masks and kept social distance at all times. Our room was modern and spacious. Cleanliness an 8/10. Shower could use some bleach and chrome accessories a little polish but on the whole I would stay here again.

I found three black beetles scurrying in the room, the member of staff at check-in was a little bit short when speaking to me, felt like he was in a hurry to be elsewhere. My young daughter awoke earlier than expected and I tried calling reception to see if I could receive breakfast earlier than I had ordered but no-one answered the phone (I tried calling multiple times over 2.5 hours) and when breakfast arrived, the yogurts were warm. The beds were comfortable and the room adequate. It was sufficient for what I needed for one night stay but I wouldn’t stay again.

Overall stay was pleasant and the staff were both polite and professional. Understand they are running a reduced capacity which made social distancing simple as there wasn't that many people to bump into along routes. Expedia says breakfast is included but doesn't mention it's 'grab & go' so please note it's not a cooked breakfast but you get lots - croissants, muffins, bars, fruit juice, yoghurt, sandwich The restaurant, bar and reception area are decorated nicely. The rooms are generally clean and we saw into one of the rooms being cleaned so surfaces are sanitized well. A few points to improve on: - The rooms need a dust along the ceiling line as there were a few cobwebs hanging down. - Room toilets need a refurb as parts don't look like they've been deep cleaned and also there isn't soft close seats which we would have thought are standard for hotels. The push button is also behind the toilet cover so a bit inconvenient. - Tap in the basin needs to be changed as it's too close to the basin side so hands touch it when trying to rinse. Again overall lovely stay and lovely hotel a stones throw away from the Chilterns and some beautiful walks around the countryside with actual trails laid out for you. P.s Marius makes some good sandwiches too :)

For the money, I don't think you could call the hotel a 4 star hotel?
